I think I should get the prize for growing almost nothing you can eat. I must tell you I bought two blueberry plants three years ago. I took great pride in those plants and kept them in containers for the first year. Nothing. Next year I got annoyed and stuck them beside a holly bush in my field garden(my garden where i put things I am not sure I want to keep, etc. plus I use for propagation )....so they sat there second year and I got ONE BERRY....THIS YEAR they are overgrown with a big milkweed plant I can not pull out because it is so big, and I actually had 4 berries on the one bush. NOTHING ON THE OTHER. I would say I am not too good at growing fruit. Rolling on the floor laughing Who said NJ is the home of the blueberry...not on this farm it ain't.

There are plenty of bees visiting here, even honeybees. So sorry about your poor blueberry plants! Crying

Maybe they have berries but the birds gobble them up before you see them? Smiling

Catmint, you just don't want me to feel bad and throw them away. I know you...it will not work. They are going to be history by next year. The little holly they are close to is growing and it needs more space.

I haven't gotten any fruit from my strawberry and blueberry plants. I put them into the ground late this spring. This is the third year for the Blackberries and they are finally producing!!

The fruit is delicious. Nothing like store bought. Being thornless is a plus, also.

Found this blogger who has a lot of articles she's written on growing veggies of different kinds, including tomatoes. Does anyone here follow her? How do you like her?

Had a nice harvest today from my Phaseolus vulgaris 'Trionfo Di Violetto' plant! Had my first batch with dinner the other night--very nice.

One year we grew zucchini and ended up making a lot of zucchini bread! It was delicious.

Very disappointed in my cucumbers this year. Low production and today I already pulled out all my cucumber vines as they looked as ratty as they could get and were dying off.

Not that I didn't get a decent harvest and ate plenty of cucumbers. But really I should have gotten a lot more. They started producing late and ended early. Nope, just a bad year for cucumbers here in my garden.

oh no, I'm sorry to hear that, Rita. Sad At least you were able to enjoy a decent amount of them. I wonder what was different this year? Something about the weather?

Tried a bunch of different new to me varieties. The heck with that. Next year going back to the tried and true types that I usually grow and that never fail to give me lots of production.
