I like to grow amaryllis in the winter and am thinking of overwintering my begonia 'kaylen'. Does that count?

@JB, that's very generous of you! Honestly, though, it's more a matter of feeling I have enough to take care of already! but I will have a look for sure.

It counts in my book!

A pot in the house with soil in it is a houseplant. No matter what is in the soil.

I do have a little jade plant someone gave me. It's not the prettiest thing but I have hopes that once it recovers from being nibbled by my cat, it will begin to look better. It does have new leaves all over it!

That counts for sure.

I now have houseplants despite myself! A good buddy of mine prevailed upon me to take her little Meyer lemon tree. So, it is sitting in my East facing window. It needs some help, repotting, fresh soil -- tomorrow I'll do that.

She also gave me this (not a great photo):



Some of that I know is hardy and can live outside but some of it I am going to have to keep inside. All of it needs to be repotted. That's also a project for tomorrow.

They look very happy! I'm hoping to get my amaryllis potted up and started indoors this weekend.

This is the time of year when everyone who has Holiday/Christmas Cactus is showing their beauties in bud or blooming. I have not seen anything on MidAtlantic regarding Schlumbergeras and that is so disappointing. I will show you some shots of my greenhouse just now. I have come to the conclusion most of us are interested in FOOD, PETS AND OUTSIDE GARDENING... IN THAT ORDER TOO. Just pulling your chains. I love you all, but I wish more of you would remember that plants in the house help in more ways than just looking pretty. You are all so good at your gardens but for some reason you do not really do houseplants. Maybe we could discuss why you do not? I swear I am going to convert at least one of you. Enjoy and have a wonderful day.

I've been meaning to take a picture of my cousin's Christmas cactus, which are in the kitchen window now that I repotted them for her last month. She has one of those greenhouse windows.

I have been really enjoying my new little lemon tree which is about to burst into bloom any day now.

So, yeah, pictures to come.

I'll get some photos of my amaryllis bulbs when they're further along.
