Elaine, I have always enjoyed your pictures! Especially Gct Renata! I've got it on my 'get' list. Colors are soft but really uplifting, and enticing. I have searched high and low for plants that I have seen the orchid posters here have shown, where else do you get so much pertinate info and specific detail on each. I bought Melaines Yam Redlands 'Sunset' last spring and have even tried and found Jim's Enc Serena O'Neil recently. Gives me an idea for something to try that is different than my usual. Keep up the beautiful pictures.

In bloom right now -
this Lc Mini Purple 'Blue' opened 2 blooms today. I bought this plant around 20 years ago at a local garden center. I almost lost it about 10 years ago, but it rebounded and looks happy now.

I mounted the C. Sacramento Rose last year and it loves it. The reptile section at local Aquarium stores sells some nice driftwood! Smiling

I grow both of them in as much light possible here and flood daily.

Eurychone rothschildiana finally opened fully. Here are Phal bellina and cornu-cervi. These were already blooming when I got them from the special moving sale last weekend. I couldn't resist as they look so nice.

That's one of the nicest Mini Purples I've ever seen, Ursula. Good growing! Thumbs up

I'm at the MG Desk here at the Extension all day and will check in from time to time.

Melissa, I forgot to say what a treat it is to see the Eurychone bloom fully open. I love the color. Also nice are those small Phals. They do much better for me than do the normal big box ones.

I added some pictures to our growing area thread- I started to move my Orchid back inside.
The thread "Our growing area" in Orchids forum
Some looked so nice in their sparkling clean indoor surrounding that I had to take a few more pictures.
The Encyclia brassavolae has been opening spikes for a few weeks now.

Beautiful! I can't believe it's time to move them inside where you are. Snow in the North central states, and we are just looking at triple digits for the weekend. Seems like we live on different continents.

Ursula, I just love the Encyclia brassavolae! Such a happy looking plant. The Ceratostylis rubra is lovely as well as the Dendrobium. It looks like they are happy to be back from summer camp.

A couple of new bloomers for me as well. Brassocattleya Marg Putman (C. intermedia x Bc. Morning Glory) began opening a spike yesterday.

And the smaller Bc. Fladosa (B. nodosa x C. crispata) just open its first flower today.

I agree with Carol, it's still summer here and no end to the heat in sight yet.

Lovely orchids all around you, Ursula. I keep forgetting to put the Ceratostylis on my Wish List. Den. bigibbum is a sweet little bouquet.

Cross-posted with you, Jim. Beautiful all, but I absolutely love the Fladosa.

Stunning Cooktown Orchid Ursula.

Large Tongued Orchids are flowering prolifically in the bush.

Those Large Tongued Orchids
are sufficiently weird to be really neat, Glen.

Jim, the Fladosa is really pretty, and Marg Putnam is no slouch either! Nice!

Temps are certainly turning a bit cooler here. It will take me about two weeks to move everything back inside and I surely prefer to move things leisurely and in good weather. And the exercise will do me good, carrying everything up the steps and through the house, I think.... Rolling my eyes. Rolling on the floor laughing

Love the names, Glen - trust to Oz to have orchids with Large Tongues, Cooktown orchids (which one is it?) and I'm waiting for you to post the one that looks like a flying duck.

Although the flying duck isn't quite so 'out there' because Jim and Ursula both grow some that look like Pterodactyls.

Thanks, y'all! Lovey dubby I do love the Eurychone too. This is the first time I've bloomed it.

The rubra and the biggibum are awesome! Two that I have on my list to get.

Love that Fladosa too! Nice.

And the Tongued orchid...wild! Never seen that one before. Thumbs up

We had a cool snap here and the Paphs and Phrags are perking up. I also saw three spikes on Cochleanthes amazonica. Let's see if it will bloom and not blast.

Elaine the Flying Duck Orchid is here but it eludes me so far. I have several photographers who will come over when I do find it. Cooktown Orchid is our State's emblem. Ursula has some lovely ones.
