Boy, bet that felt good! Very hot this afternoon...sidewalk egg-frying kind of day.

Yes, we had 105 it seems I can't step outside without starting to sweat. It is very hard to keep plants in good shape.

It's funny - it was only 90s but VERY humid at my parents' in PA and was ungodly! Now it just doesn't feel that hot here. How does that work?!

Come down to the Houston area occasionally as a reminder of how hot humidity is. It will feel great to go back.

How much do you want rain? I have Rain Envy...yes, I crave it, I want rain so bad I could literally taste it (if I could remember what that was like). I go walk under the sprinkler spray so I can simulate rain! I wish we could just bribe a tropical storm to head this way! I've had 4 1/2 years of drought (interrupted by El Nino)! ARGH!

Pssst, Carey! You should have taken Porkpal up on his offer. He lives somewhere near the nursery where my "posse' goes for our periodic nursery fix.

It's Caldwell's in Rosenburg, TX. on Band Rd. My DH hates this place. I can be sitting with a group of plant people and we'll mention this spot, and by the next morning at 7 AM, we'll be on our way.

You know, for that tropical storm to reach you it has to go through us on the coast first.

Oh, you are welcome to every drop. We have had 12 days of rain in the past two 2 1/2 weeks. But after 3 hurricanes and several tropical storms in less than a decade, I have had enough storms.

Jay, I wouldn't dream of wishing that any very strong storms would head toward the eastern side of Texas! I have family over toward the southeast side of Texas, you know. And anything that comes in toward the east doesn't normally help us with rain anyway. I was wishing something from that tropical storm way down there would just head straight up for the central areas of Texas.
