No no no - I *knew* you'd take that wrong. Seriously, honey - thank you, but I got a feeling they'd never make it through my scheduled abuse.... Big Grin

Howdy Sheryl!
A bit, well, a lot late, LOL!

Zuzu,
It sounds like you do live in a Paradise! I am in awe and envious of all your plants. Do you have pictures posted anywhere specific?

I could deal with a no name if it was always that gorgeous!

Jo Ann,
You really know how to name a flower! LOL! YUM!

Zuzu,
I will admire from afar also. Boy are they beautiful!!

Charleen,
Grinning over your bog, but it sure worked! It bloomed beautifully!

Fantastic! My AGAIN AND AGAIN is also blooming, even though my sis cut the fans back in Sept. by mistake. But I haven't taken a picture of it this time around, and yesterday when I was out planting (yes, I'm running THAT late!) in that bed I noticed three other stalks just emerging. It's a really great multiple and winter rebloomer, although the color is a bit drab -- but I'll take it! I don't think yours is AGAIN AND AGAIN, but it's close! Here's a picture from a previous winter:

Charlene, I wonder if your rebloomer could be TOTAL RECALL -- it's a famous rebloomer in the same colors as yours, and here's a picture from the Cubits database.

http://cubits.org/irisforum/db...

Edit: And here's a picture of it I found in DG:

Do you think your iris could be TOTAL RECALL? It drives me crazy when I don't know the names of my irises and I know there are so many look-alikes -- but not so many winter reblooming look-alikes...

I think I got the plant at Lowes. Want me to see if I can get a more closer picture??? It will probably be gone tomarrow if it freezes. It has three buds altogether. I know I was so happy to see it.

Sure -- and if you look at the picture in DG there are other shots of TOTAL RECALL at the bottom that you can click on. Is this your first bloom for this iris? If so, you might need to wait until spring to see if it looks more like those pictures.

I imagine the color will be darker in the warmth of Spring or summer.
I'll get some pictures then too.

Beautiful iris, Charleen.

I'm still planting too, Betty. I take every nice day I can to divide and replant, and this was a good one. Tomorrow to. The latest I've done is New Years Eve. LOL.

Unfortunately I'm running out of time, Polly! I have to have knee surgery in two more weeks and I still have about 50 iris to get in the ground -- and I have too many commitments in the next two weeks to get it done. But the doc says I can probably get out to do my gardening again after about 3 weeks, so I'll probably finish in January -- and I think last year I finished in Feb. and still had a good bloom season. So there's hope!

I still have maybe 100 to plant, they are in pots, some I have to upgrade the pot size, don't want to stunt those poor thing! I thank Betty big time for so many of my new iris, I can't hardly wait until spring! Right now I am busy in the front yard planting Rhodies and ferns and other shade loving plants under the redwoods.

I flagged that link that Polly had posted in a thread that featured the iris 'Total Recall', the garden owner just raved about how long it bloomed. I loved the photos of that entire garden so saved it. http://theamericanirissociety....
Actually I added it to my Pinterest garden ideas. Pinterest is an online pinboard and I just started this board not too long ago, it's fun. http://pinterest.com/calif_sue...

Betty, best wishes for a speedy recovery on that knee!!

Dog gone, I hit finished instead of Add another picture.
It does have those tiny lines like the other iris but I sure wouldn't want to give it a name.
but I do love it.....

I do love the look of them. They are just too hard for me to maintain. There was a couple of bushes here when we moved in. Every summer there is one that has all the leaves eaten. I spray and it does no good.
