I understand what you are saying but this pic is about as far away as I have gotten when taking shots of the little ones.
Thumb of 2014-11-09/Lestv/b70424
Pretty much because mine were all in a row last year, it was hard to get them all in a faraway shot. Also, they all bloomed at such different times that I didn't have much to put together in a group shot. Next year I will have far more of them to take shots of (if they bloom).

Those are Smart and Ninja Turtles btw. Both have really grown since these were taken. And both show up well from far away.

I started with 10 last year. 8 bloomed. The other two are growing well so I think they will bloom next year. I also got another 23 (!!) this year, so hope a bunch of them bloom as well! I will then have lots of faraway shots for Bonnie. nodding

the unknown iris several frames back looks like a Siberian to me. Our Siberian bed is full so not looking for new ones. Hubby likes 'Miss Apple' with the res tones. Joe Pye Weed's garden is the hybridizer jpwflowers.com

I'm particularly interested in finding these Aril Iris:

Iris (Regelia sec.) korolkowii; stolonifera "Network;" kirkwoodii (love that one!); iberica var. Lycotis; Coffee River and Dardanus. If anyone knows a reputable dealer/seller, or, if you are, please give me a holler!! Smiling

Thanks.

Tom, in the spirit of staying on topic, I WISH that you and others in the rest of the country get some relief from the terrible snow storms that I'm seeing on the news!

How are you all doing?

I was just looking at Plant Delights Nursery online, and they had a lot of interesting species Iris. Unfortunately, non on your list Sheila.

Jan, not a lot of snow here, just cold weather, but it's a heat wave today, about 12 degrees here already this morning. That 2 degrees higher then yesterday's high temp.
I wonder how Polly is doing! I think she might be in the lake affected snow belt.

Sheila, I can't grow Arils here, so can't help you on that one.

Looked at the Plants Delight site. We grow I. cristata 'Powder Blue giant' & 'Vein Mountain. the last has a very large clump here. Will have to try & pot some up for the club iris sale July 25.

I want to add some more "species" iris next year. And if the JI's and LA's, and Arilbreds do alright....there will be more of those added, as well. I planted I. missouriences this year, but it was really dried out when I got it, and I don't think it will "take' (had that same trouble with one SIB, and one spuria, as well Grumbling ). I did plant some I'missourienses seeds, though, and hopefully they will take off .

Quickly going through my list, I would order these right now.

Bluebeard's Ghost
Bottle Rocket
Bravery and/or Daring Deception and/or Glamorama
Chestnuts Roasting
Chocolate Halo
Decadence
Drinks at Sunset
Expose
Man's Best Friend
Mango Queen
Montmartre
My Oh My
Patchwork Puzzle
Plot Line
Reckless Abandon
Rogue Trader
Spice Trader
Starship Enterprise
Stop the Traffic
Strozzapreti
That's All Folks
Toronto
Tuscan Summer
Volcanic Glow

...and a red and black one....and a few rebloomers that have done well in our heat...and....

That list will change (and grow) every day. Hilarious! That's why I just have to go with the flow and order what grabs my attention at that time. There's just too many I like/want/must have! Sighing!
