Oh.. I have space, I guess.. I'm looking at the area behind the new keyhole garden that I've just started planting. It is gopher and squirrel territory.. I just came in from outside... I was digging in a section at the back of the "vegetable garden"... and I think I will sacrifice the tomato area and opt for putting them in pots on the patio.. They'd be much closer to the house then. And of course, I'm always eying the lawn. But if I start ripping that up, I'm going to have to re-do sprinklers... *and* it's enough of a slope, that I'd want to do a low retaining wall.... It's a task. But there are a couple of spots where I can push the lawn back from some existing borders.. It's kind of back-breaking, digging up lawn.. If I were 25 again, it would be no problem... Sticking tongue out

Muddymitts, I am thinking about Spring before Winter is official. Where is the best places to see a large collection of iris near us or within a few hours drive?

There are a couple of places in the Nashville area that look promising, Teresa. Every year I promise myself that I'm going to go to see them -- every year I get busy with my own Irises and forget. Sticking tongue out

About 5 yrs ago, my sister and I went to Iris City. It is a must do again! I have a cd of that trip, maybe I could drag it out. I would love to go to St Louis again.

Well, I would love to see pictures of Iris City if you can find them Teresa. I'm sure many of you have been to growers and gardens where you've taken pictures.. I think it would help us get through the next couple of months until the catalogs start coming out. I always forget my camera when I go places, so someone else could start that thread, if they were so inclined Smiling

Sherry, today is DHs birthday. Kids will be home later, meal, cake and gifts, but I will try and look it up. I agree, seeing lovely pictures of blooms and nice gardens help me get thru the winter. It will bring back great memories. My sister that passed in Feb went with me. She was my garden hopping pal.

So many birthdays!! I'm baking 3 cakes this week! Coconut, Chocolate, and I'll figure out the last one....

Teresa, Happy birthday to your DH... I'm not sure what that means... "Dear Husband"? "Dumb Husband" (depending on your mood)? "Designated hitter"? "Delirious Housefrau"?
Ah.. I just googled it.. This is the definition I got:

dh
dear husband
My dh lets me buy all the scrapbooking stuff I want to and I don't even have to wear black pantyhose!

I guess if I texted, I would know this stuff... black stockings or not..

These threads are kinda like me wandering around the house... I start out with some specific intention in mind and notice the dishes need to go in the dishwasher.. but as long as I'm there, I should wipe the counters off.. As I'm reaching for the sponge, I notice a spider web and need to get the long handled duster out of the closet... As I pass the thermostat, I think that it's a little cold inside.. but I need my glasses to read it.. while I'm there, I should grab that little area rug and take it outside to shake it off.. but as I pass through the laundry room, I realize That I have clothes that need to go in the dryer... and on and on it goes....

Here's a nice beard:
