Four days of Christmas left? Good, now I don't feel so bad for not taking down any of my Christmas decorations (including the tree Whistling )

I've had a pull-out kitchen faucet for quite a few years now, and would hate to live without one! (Since I don't have one of the "pot filler" faucets over the stove that are shown on so many of the home renovation TV shows...). Unfortunately, however, ours seems to be "stuck" and won't swivel - so now that as well as the bathroom faucet need to be replaced Sticking tongue out

38 degrees at Two Thirty, Sunny with no wind.

Long range forecast is for mostly thirties and high twenties till end of February, with snow forecast for the end of February and early March.
Will not be planting any thing in March , which I very, very rarely have done in fifty years, but if snow forecast is true, drought may be temp. gone.

Hah, and I say Hah again, I knew if I wrote that forecast it would change; Now ten days or so from now low double digit highs and sub-zero at night.
In reality Susan, I would rather have your temperatures than what we have this year and last; I want winter to be winter, forty degrees in Feb. is not good for any thing.

Part of the reason is we have had too warm January and Februarys in the recent years but then come March and April winter hits again so I finish planting Tomatoes and Chiles in June.

Beautiful sunny day here today and part of tomorrow. Winter storm watch with possible freezing rain and snow mix tomorrow afternoon/evening and than minus nights for a couple of days. I too wish that we would just have winter and it would be over before spring temps start. I lose many more perennials and fruit trees in the spring than winter. We'll warm up and the sap starts running up the trees and then we will get a hard frost that kills them. Same with the perennials, they will start coming up and then either get killed or die back and have a hard time getting going. We've been melting the last week but have probably have at least a foot of snow in most places and more where it has drifted. Not ready for winter sowing yet but plan to start some things in the house this week.

oh Mr. Dr.! I wish our winter would BE winter. Some days it's nice & warm other days it's -25c & windy. I've had my water pipes freeze twice this year (-45c!!!). Once for 4 1/2 days, the other for only an hour, but geeeeeeze. I know, warmer climes have more bugs, but some days.........

I returned to the place my youth, and hell raising, and the rain did not remove the snow, just made the side walk solid ice.
Had to blow snow off part of the side walk and -- the small garage door is frozen shut. I was too lazy to dig out the ice chipper.
Was home to technically , two and one-half days and did absolutely nothing, other than blow snow.

My friends came over both full days; although one came over and stayed one night, he now lives 40 miles North, as his wife seems to have shut down, except for scrap-booking, which she can travel to do.
He has serious health problems, she got canned , RN, for not doing her job well enough, so she decided they should move to her old home town.
She paid the extra money for the new house, 401K, but then he paid for all of the house they sold when they moved there, but due to serious heart problems, he can only work part time while they are living on his wages now.
She says she is looking for a job, as she sits and watches TV while drinking coffee creamer with a little coffee (she has gained a lot of weight) but is too young to get Social Security.

Now a decade or so ago she got cancer, and beat it, but she just turned off after that as she used to be -- get it done -- person but now he cleans the house, cooks and does dishes.
He really did not want to move (her one daughter lives in the her old home town) but he is the type who does not look for a fight but is just plain wearing out due to health problems and now has no friends in his new town.

I was glad to get home, and do not feel bad for just kicking back and reading books. I tip my hat to you.

It makes me feel bad that with all the days my friend was staying at my house ( he ended up working , multiple weeks straight, up to 35 hours a week, , and was staying at my house but I had no way to just drive home to bullshite with him except one time and then he drove back too just to see me.

All the bags of leaves I put out to protect Sharon's wannbe hedge, I look at them , over one dozen plus at least six more laying by the shed and think "What am I GOING TO DO WITH THEM?"
Same thing in the South garden where I have a lot of leaves I though I might need just dumped in the garden by the neighbor, which I will have to move to allow the ground to dry out, much less plant.

I can probably mulch both gardens two-feet deep, or more. Blinking Confused Blinking

We always put a lot of leaves and grass clippings on the veg garden in the fall; when I'm ready to start planting in the spring I rake them off the planting area into the paths, to help keep the weeds down. Which reminds me - I really need to get a new rake!

It is 71 at Two Thirty, and it appears the days of forty some degrees will end tonight with highs being forecast in the sixties and seventies.
Just got back from home; I was there for three days and did , some, garden work.
I spent two days roto-my, and some relatives gardens.

The ground was hard and dry; I had roto-tilled the North garden the day before I left and that was far drier then I expected.
Usually the groud where I dug up potatoes, is lumpy and in the winter the water in it freezes , exapnds and makes it easier to till.
Not this year, there was very little mositure in it last fall so it was just as hard and dry as when I turning it over.
Just the opposite of most years, that ws the part of the garden where the roto-tiller jumped and bucked the hardest leave more clods than nicely tilled soil.
The leaves left in the garden, because I did not use them for the roses; I though they looked like a slimy mess a couple of inches deep. HA, and I say Ha again. Most of them were still five to six inches deep, SO, I forked most of that up and put them in bin where some roses leaves normally go.
At that I could not get them all up , even raking so when I tilled that area it was wet and clumpy.

Did not get the roses uncovered as I had no place to put the leaves with out having to handle them twice if I just piled them in the garden.
So next week when I finally get my car, I can finish uncovering them and plant some of the garden.
I will start planting the North garden today. I tip my hat to you.

AT the moment, Eleven Twentyseven A.M. it is a hazy 74 degrees F.
Temperatures are supposedly to be in the average temp. for the rest of the week.

Heading down to the South garden in a bit for a stress test by the doctor who want badly to put me on B.Pressure meds.
Not going to happen.

Lat time I saw the garden it was pretty much solid black, a week and four days ago.
Will see If the corn is up and not destroyed by turkey vermin.

Taking down a couple tomato and squash that I pulled out of the garden weeding up North last nigh.
Few of what one would call real weeds but volunteer Tomatoes, Squash and Cleome were/are a nuisance.

Peed away some money ordering a Giant Cinnamon and Dr. Wyche's when I started looking for odd ball tomatoes online. :o
With all the volunteers that came up, I really had no need to buy any, any time. :-[

RpR, ask your Dr for a diuretic for your BP, works for my sister and my very good friend, and it lowered mine when I started taking it for congestive heart failure. Crossing Fingers!
