Yesterday 1 1/4" and 1/4" this morning, helped a little, but not long term.

It's pouring rain tonight. Wish the farmers had rain mid-season. We did at the beginning and now the end. Drought in the middle. Just starting to cool down AND get rain. Farmers are using hail & drought insurance!

It's pouring out tonight. Too little too late, for the farmers. Their crops were either hail damaged or the drought stunted everything.
Off to Red Deer on Friday for my annual EchoCardio, Yard Sale on Saturday, then Sunday we're gone camping for 5 days. Busy week, organizing everything for the sale.
I have curtains to make for the RV too, before Friday. Have the old ones, to use as a pattern.

We had a wet/ter late summer/fall some creeks that were dry are running but slough that dried up are still mostly dry.
The wet is good if the cold Jan.-March predicted is true as the frost will not go so deep.

I am at home in the town library as I have no internet, or TV, at home and the limit here is one hour; I am now just short of two hours so being a person who obeys ALL laws, I will have to sign off.
Cio! I tip my hat to you.

It seems, as dangerous as that can be, that next week will be the last week of true winter, single digit and sub-zero weather.
I have ordered all the potatoe/alliums tubers/bulb/plants on-line so I am getting into spring mode, slowly.

I still like looking out of the NorthWest door and seeing solid snow, but life goes on.

I am now watching a Martha Stewart show on spring planting , from 20 years ago when she did not look like an old broad with too much money plus she is outside actually doing the work.
Actually informative and interesting.

My left hip, for absolutely ZERO reasons, has suddenly become annoyingly uncomfortable so that simply standing up is the last position I want to spend much time doing; bending over to the left aggravates it, but does not make it collectively worse.

It makes no damn sense as I have not done any heavy work lately, did not fall down, did ZIP to give it a reason to exist but I got up one morning and ZAP, there it was.
It is getting better slowly but I suppose I will have go see a doctor so he can tell me he has no idea what it is or why it is/was there.
Might get some good DRUGS though, heh, heh, heh.
I took Sharon's Tramadol, with Tylenol and NyQuil for two nights, and used a heating pad.
I slept like a baby. Whistling Hurray!

That is what my one cousin blames EVERYTHING for and slower recovery is part of age, but I went out to shovel snow and while I knew it was there it actually made it a bit better.

I hate to say it but I think being a lazy lard-butt spending way too much time sitting on said butt is probably 75 percent of the problem, it is just too often the past 12 months it comes out of nowhere, while doing some thing that should be pain inducing, such as falling on the steps, is just here to day and gone tomorrow.
Que sera, sera I tip my hat to you.

I agree - activity makes me feel better too. A few summers back I was having a problem with sciatica but had a bunch of big bags of bark mulch that I wanted to move from behind the shed to a couple of different areas; somewhere along the line my vertebrae must have gotten back into alignment and I haven't had a problem with it since... and hopefully I haven't jinxed myself by saying that!

Yes this has been a brutal winter. I've forgotten what the sunshine looks like.. rain 🌧

Sending good vibes your way that the dr appt goes well. Sometimes hips can cause a awful mind boggling pain all of a sudden…. In so many cases if it's osteoarthritis there is a fix for a better quality of life and mobility.
Ask about gentle hip support with velcro straps on Amazon..can help from aggravating the joint and treat the area with rest and ice. Keep us posted…

29 degrees and what looks like lighter snow coming down hard right now.
Good breeze so it is coming down sideways.

I have to paint the hallway today, one of those deals where you put your step ladder on a couple of 2 by4s .
A system I have done often , but not for a long time. I tip my hat to you.

Everyone says the same thing, be careful, but be careful. The articulated ladders do a good job like the Little Giant.

Just thinking about it scares me! (Happy to have a one-story house here.)

We're also having a beautiful, sunny, 35° day Smiling

RpR - I agree with you.... I sit far too much, and when I get active is when I feel better.
Right now I'm exercising my brain. Now that I'm president of the Senior Centre, I have a lot to think about to keep the members happy (don't like change lol ), and get things upbeat & moving forward.
The past 2 years was very tough on Joan, the previous president. With all the restrictions, how was she to DO anything? People are Very Slowly coming back, but it's an uphill climb to get them to return. I'm actually in an enviable position when things are returning to semi-normal (we have no restrictions in Alberta now) and we can start doing things again. Thumbs up

Susan, from your posts that I've read I can't imagine that you "sit far too much" !! (That is to say, those 10 spare minutes that you might have are okay to use for sitting Big Grin )

oh yes, Sandy - I've been known to sit a solid 6-8 HOURS at a time. It's just that the other hours are either sleeping (hahaha) or doing all that running around "doing" that I tell everyone about. I do a lot on the computer too - emails, checking out websites, and playing my online game (Game of Thrones). I manage to get 7 hours of sleep, too. When I go to meetings, there's a lot of sitting there, too. After all, how many meetings do you know of where they dance around the table? Rolling on the floor laughing

The spring or really wintmmer, was good, very good for gardening .
Having said that, potatoes and onion are thriving but tomatoes and chiles are OK but not growing , i.e. vertically like they did last year and are starting to flower or already have fruit on them in the case of the chiles.

Now maybe I am impatient but but this year we have not turned on the irrigation system up North (one area is shorted and I am going to let a person who wire them take care of that) so the garden is not getting the water it go last year.

Well, last evening/night with the very hot dry weather Sharon said I should manually water (irrigate) as much of the yard/garden as I could, so, she said 20 minutes which is useless, I turned on / shut off zones 1-7 skipping dead zone 3 manually.

Of course it started raining, peeing rain, when I got to the last zones but as a gent I once worked for said: "A wet sponge absorbs water quicker than a dry one." Hurray!

Hopefully the rain hit down home also. I tip my hat to you. Thank You!
