Italian Master, Enchanter, Carnival Capers, Glamour Pants, and Honey Dripper are some Blyth irises that seem to have nice large blooms here. Although bloom size can be affected by drought, and high temps, I remember how small many blooms were that summer in 2012 when it was so hot and dry.

I noticed Tom Johnson has one called Bigger Is Better, you might want to check that one out.

Thanks, Tom. It was introduced this year. No pic in the database yet.

I have been told that T-Rex has big blooms and stalks. It is not that old but I don't see it sold anywhere.

Quite a few of Gerald Richardson's irises produce very large flowers. T-Rex flowers are absolutely huge, but they hold up surprisingly well.

I heard about T-Rex after a bad storm laid down a lot of my iris this spring. It is supposed to be one that can withstand some abuse. I started looking for it and have not been able to find a vendor that sells it. Since it is an 02 (I think) iris I wonder why it is not mentioned/offered more.

Another large bloom, although it's not from Barry Blyth, is Tiajuana Taxi from Doug Kanarowski at Mariposa Iris. They are not cheap...but they look to be very beautiful!

I think I'm more interested in bloom quality and count then bloom size. I like the ones that keep blooming through out the season. I also like the sturdy bloom stalk that I don't have to support. I'm starting to see many irises that are classified as Early, Mid and late season. I'm trying to get a few of these to see how long their season is.

Okay, you guys are just a constant source of temptation. I wonder if vendors know that we pounce on them the moment they open in the spring because we have created lists and more lists, and saved our pennies, and worked ourselves into such frenzies that we have to have their iris NOW! Hilarious!

That said, it is time for an idiot question: how do you upload several database images into one message? The option for database photos doesn't come up in upload an image, and if I put a code for one in my message, I cannot go back to the database for a second code without losing my entire message.

Tom, being a relative newbie to the world of irises, (at least seriously), I want to have some of everything - re-bloomers, many colors, etc...
and a few BIG ones! Green Grin!

Leslie, open the database in a new tab and go back and forth between the image page to copy the code and the posting page to paste it in.

Or you can write your message on some other document, like an e-mail, then when finished, cut and past it into the message box. That being said, I used to loose the message too when I went back and forth, but now I don't for some reason. Thought the system was improved or something. Shrug!
