Marilyn, Mom has been an invalid for the last year.... in bed, on oxygen. We knew she was going.
She had COPD (my stepfather smoked 2 packs of Camels every day...in the house, in the car...for 40 years. I think second-hand smoke can cause breathing problems. He died of emphysema. ) - and for the past year
her heart function was less than 20%. She'd become quite deaf too, and often said she was ready to go. No dementia, however.
Yes, she will be greatly missed, is missed, by many people.

Mary Ann, I know you must cherish the time your Mom has left. 93 is also a long time to live. Wishing you both well.

So sorry tom. Falling is one of my fears & I am not near 90.

Jan--2nd hand smoke did not help my asthma. I have been away from it for 40 years which does help.

No news yet. Jan so sorry to hear about your mother. You were so nice to be taking care of her so she could be with you at the end.

Thanks everyone. Chris and I are off to the Bay Area to visit his parents who are 90 and 95.
As I said, it's that time in our lives.

I just got word that my aunt died about an hour ago. Her birthday would have been on Christmas eve.
