Thank you, its done so well, all I did was pot it in terra cotta and leave it in shade all summer and mildliy fertilized, may have tried some light pruning in spring.
Peach is nice, and I have a small very pale pink one. The grocery store had a delicious assortment of colors at a good price that were hard to pass by.

Ohhhh, I would have trouble just passing them by. I need to get more but don't usually plant-shop when they have them. The tiny little grocery store here only has food.

First rule of library plants:
Never ever have one that may wilt visibly where customers can see/touch it up close. Cuz there are those who will stick their finger in the pot and/or tell the innocent staff 'This plant needs water " . No matter that there are 25 other plants thriving, and have been for years.
Second rule:
I am normally very easygoing but these complaints about my plants send me through the roof and have me cussing like a sailor
By the way, do they realize they might be sticking their finger into Bonide systemic insecticide?
Third rule: Common folk do not readily recognize mealybug problems. thankfully, or they'd have more to complain about.

I am tempted to stick my pokiest Sanseveira right at customer checkout, but I'm afraid a little kid will get poked.

Most praised plant this week- a simple african violet. I guess I don't see them sold often, lately? When it starts to rest, I should do leaf cuttings. (at home)

My favorite pre-pandemic librarian had at least a couple of dozen African violets on her counter, many brought in by like-minded patrons, some quite striking. I always wanted to ask for leaves from the most unusual and never did, thinking if everyone asked for leaves there'd be none left. Then everything shut down. When I next returned more than a year later, my fave librarian was gone, along with the violets. 🫤

aw. I sure hope she was OK and got to take them home.
I wasn't allowed back in for weeks. The custodian kept things going pretty well. But an AV might not have survived.

I've had a few plants donated over the years.

I like to think she retired and took them home.

We used to have potted plants in our church sanctuary. We had signs saying please do not water but every Sunday, our plants would be drowned. Eventually we got tired of replacing the plants so bought some realistic looking plastic plants. They got watered too.

Hubby and Daughter have both voted for decorating nightmare. Daughter even pointed out to me I am the only gardener in history who has managed to plant a clashing garden. I thought Martha Stewart would be proud
