Patti those are healthy looking new plants. Is that the one that is named Purple Haze?

Hi Kyla, how fun to see your wintering semps. Legolas is one of my favorite semps. Love the way your NOID is tucked in the rocks, that is going to be a beautiful colony once it gets going.
When does your spring arrive?

This will be my second year here; I moved here mid April last year, and spring had already sprung by then. So I am feeling end of March? But as we all know, weather has a mind of its own, especially these days.

I also have some concerns about semps here in regards to rainfall amounts. I have an old rusted out wheelbarrow that would make a lovely semp garden, but I need to figure how to protect it in case of big rainstorms. There really isn't any overhead shelter I could give it. But it would look so cool!

Glare

*thinking*

Maybe an umbrella/awning of some sort? Covered patio/deck?
Or maybe you could just throw a tarp over during the rainy times? Or a easily removable dome, kind of like a mini green house?
You could make a little frame and cover it with a clear plastic? One that would let light in but keep rain out?

Well, there is no covered patio or deck. I am thinking some kind of umbrella might be doable though.

I'll think on it for a while. Thumbs up

This is not a sempervivum but it is what I purchased a day or so ago to get me through the winter. This is a thread from the Container forum.

Edited to send you to the container forum to keep this thread to Semps. thx
Hilarious! Hilarious!

Marilyn, definitely shouldn't have to change out the main focus, the haworthias in that cute frame!. They can do well indoors with a little light or if possible I would (and do with a lot of my indoor containers ) move them to window light whenever I have the time to give them extra light whenever you can think of it.
Once, I made a container planting with haworthias and stuck them in a restaurant bathroom (with no window) as a little"green décor"
and a lady came out of the bathroom and asked to buy the planting...which tells me you can sell anything, anywhere to anyone... Whistling

Any sprig of fake foliage that compliments the stripes or form/shape of the haworthias would do as a bkgrd change if you must... Big Grin

Yes Lynn that's Purple Haze. I don't know if it is a sempervivum or a jovi though.

Kyla I just love your pictures! I want the one that was in ice. Sounds like my kind of semp!

Hey, thanks! And that's Legolas which I got from Chris, @goldfinch4 -- but I suspect there might be problems trying to ship semps to Australia! :(

Sometimes it's nice the world is such a big place and other times we could wish to be closer neighbors, eh?

Patti it appears to be a sempervivum, not a heuffelii. Very pretty. We don't have S. 'Purple Haze' in the U.S. Did you get it from 'The Succulent Garden Nursery' in Australia?

Love the new succulent Marilyn That is going to be beautiful hanging on your patio fence this summer. Lovey dubby

Hello all,
I just wanted to say hello and let you know i haven't left ATP Group hug I want to say thanks to everyone. I am trying to get some new pictures together, i lost all of my photo's when i had my laptop taken from my house. I am hoping i can figure out how to find photos i have posted in the last few years.
I have lost a good many plants and plan on making a list of what i have left, i am not going to think about what i lost just think about what i have left.

I hope everyone has a good evening Thumbs up
A green thumb comes only as a result of the mistakes you make while learning to see things from the plants point of view!!

Oh, well, welcome back Jelinda!! You have been missed! I am glad to hear you are still with us but sorry to hear that your laptop was taken.

There must be some way to find your old photos posted. I think when you find your old posts with photos, you can copy them back into your own files? But I see there's no easy way to find the photos JoJoe posted unless you comb thru all the threads that you've posted in. I would imagine this Semp Chat thread from all the previous years would have a lot of your old photos, Jelinda. Start scanning that thread from 2014 and 2013.

Again, glad you are back! Hurray!

Jelinda, good news. Go to your Profile page, scroll down to Plant Database Contributions: you have 102 photos in the database. Great photos I may add. Green Grin!
Go to the database entry for the plant, right click on the small photo and choose SAVE AS. Then save it to your computer.
