My Pseudobombax ellipticum came in the mail today. Here are some pics before I potted it up.

Here is a pic after I potted it up and trimmed it.

I took the top as a cutting because I wanted the main plant to be shorter and because the growing tip wasn't that good.

I'm going to root and grow the cutting as a bonsai type tree. Here is a pic

Also I ordered some seeds of Pseudobombax Mille. I intend to style them as bonsai.

It has been a rainy weekend here...thankful that the downpour comes in intervals..gives the succulents some breather..actually I am more concerned with the winds, don't like the strong bursts.

Our cloudy view, a nice break:

And the wet garden below..have moved my Plumeria container to the south part, it was being pummeled by the winds earlier:

Some Sedum rubrotinctum leaf cuttings, I got by accident as I was moving the container, or finding them on the ground, and placed it on this container..just to save it from being thrown out..they are growing nicely now especially after the rains we had:
30Jan2015 -January was the driest ever..thankfully there were dense fogs.

I only know that it's a member of the echeveria family.

@Orchidgal,
I believe it's a type of Sedum. Look at Sedum nussbaumerianum and see if it looks like yours.

Thanks Planto -- that's exactly what it is. I will write that down in my little spiral bound book (the ones with the pretty covers you can find at Ross, etc., not the utilitarian school spiral books - not that I have anything against them). Don't know how I lived without it before I started doing this two years ago. Everything little thing that I know I am not going to take the time to enter in it's right place, goes in there - names of plants; web sites; phone numbers, odd bits and pieces, etc. and it stays in there until I have a chance to put the information in it's correct place. I have it near me on the coffee table .... now my friend has bought a similar book and is doing the same thing. The book has to be in the same place at all times !!
Some days there's just too much going on; and I used to write things down on a piece of paper -- not a good longer term system !

No, Kate; looks similar but Planto nailed it. Thanks though.

@orchidgal,
You're welcome. I remember having seen it before on another gardening forum (it's so pretty, between the colors and the flowers) and made a mental note of it. I like your system of keeping track. Unfortunately, I don't have enough plants to require a "system," but once I have the space, I might just need a notebook of my own. Hilarious!

I agree with Planto on ID, I have this one and believe it is the copper tone. It is such a great addition for color. I keep dividing it, but really should give its own area next year for a good show.

I use apps on my smart phone to keep track of my plants.

I use an office suite and an app called garden manager.
