They are so sweet popping through the snow. They're just starting, so there's a good chance I'll see 'em in the snow.

The funny thing about those, is that each year I think I've dug them all out of the grass there, but each year they pop up and start blooming well before all the others I've planted in the garden. This spring I will again dig them and move them to the garden, but I have no doubt they will keep showing up there. I had planted some at the edge of a bed, just up hill from that spot of lawn, and the seeds fell downhill and they've shown up in the grass there ever since.

Surprises like that are so welcome. I never planted Chionodoxa but it appeared and kept expanding, no matter how often I have moved so many of them.

Ah yes, among my first bulbs I planted as a teenager were Chionodoxa and Siberian Squills, and within a few years both, which were planted at the front of the bed, started seeding in the lawn. I recall them blooming before those planted in the garden too, I suppose the sod provides warmth that mulch doesn't. I like seeing little flowers move into the lawn, but the other way around irks me, LOL.

Very nice flowers tarev.
Wow 85 degrees must be nice. It is 3 degrees here and Sunday we are supposed to go down to -6.
With the amount of snow on the ground here and the low temps I fear I will not see the ground again till early April.

Bob - April of 2015 or 2016? We're in the same boat. I have to look through photos to see what grass looks like.

Thanks Bob! Sending warm thoughts there to all in the NE! I realized later my garden sensors were getting hit directly by the sun, so it may be overstated..it seems we were hovering more around 75F, but yes quite warm at this time of the year even for us..wishing for some more rain.

Beautiful flowers. It's nice to have something pretty to look at. No snow here, though we're supposed to get an inch today but with those brutal winds and frigid temps. Everything around here just looks dead: naked trees, brown lawns, dead leaves blowing, dead looking plant debris. It's depressing.

Those pics are inspirational. It is 4 degrees and a whiteout. I am compensating for this by doing some online plant "window shopping".
