Those are all beautiful.
I just gave my huge plant to my daughter in law, I could not lift it any more, or even move it and I know she will take good care of it.
I had twenty two now I am down to six. it is amazing what a heart attack can do.

Posting a pic from one of my little faithfuls...

Thumb of 2015-10-03/MamaIve12/89bbf6

It had some damage in the trunk a few weeks ago (it's still sprinkled with cinnamon), but it's very resilient.

This one is about 5 years old.

Thumb of 2015-10-03/MamaIve12/8826af

It has a seed pod, but we couldn't figure out how to collect the seeds in time.

Very nice trees Ive! Thumbs up
The damage to the trunk...was it from snails? For awhile there I was battling with aphids, but then other insects took over and devoured the aphids. Now I am battling snails and slugs. They're under control somewhat with applications of snail and slug bait.

I'm not sure. But yes, I did battle with snails the entire season... I got things under control, but it was bad for a while.

Still blooming outside. I lost the pods -- didn't get to it in time as I didn't realize you need to tie the pod together so the seeds wouldn't fly away.

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Gorgeous display of blooms, orchidgal! All from one plant...amazing! One pod opened on me too before I could tie. I asked hubby not to mow or bush-cut around the mother plant in case there are seed sprouts. Hilarious!

Don't feel bad, Elfrieda. I think almost all of us have lost seeds from our 1st pod. Here's my story: Several years ago, I was bringing my plants indoors for the winter one windy day. As I was walking down the sidewalk, I kept noticing what looked like dandelion fluff floating all around me. I then wondered why there were so many all of a sudden, and so I turned around and just happened to look down inside the box that I was transporting the plants in, and then I realized -- those were my precious DR seeds escaping. I didn't notice beforehand that my pod had split open, and I certainly did not know that the darn seeds had parachutes. Blinking I quickly secured the pod, so that no more seeds could escape, but there were only a few left in it. Grumbling You should have seen me running around the yard trying to recapture as many of my seeds floating in the wind, as I could. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing I know that if any of my neighbors were watching, they probably thought that I was nuts.

When I had Plumeria seed-pods, once those pods began to turn brown I slipped a piece of my wife's hose over each one and tied the ends. No lost seeds when those pods split open. I guess this would work with Adeniums as well?

Thank you all for the hugs they felt pretty good.
Out of the seven plants I have left one decided to give me a treat and bloom.

That's a beautiful flower, Doris. I guess it will be next summer before I can expect/hope for flowers.

I agree Doris. Enjoy your beautiful bloom and may you have many more. With all of the recent rains that we've had, I doubt that I'll be seeing more blooms. I'm already seeing some yellowing leaves. Sighing! The evenings are beginning to get a little cool and I want to bring my plants in soon to avoid shocking them and to keep them from going completely dormant. But I want them to dry out a little before then.

Do Adeniums go dormant, like my plumeria?

Yes, they can. Give then no water, if they shed their leaves. Otherwise, it's instant rot. Ask me how I know.
