"Petit (e?) a petit, les oiseux faits les nis" (Mika, please correct my spelling and grammar!)

That is a little French phrase that an old friend used to say. It means, literally, " Little by little, the birds make their nest." I apply it to everything - even making pottery, Neal!

I'm signing off for about 2 weeks. I might check in a time or two but I'll be in Mexico enjoying the nice weather and ocean breeze so I don't plan to spend much time on the computer! Time to go pack! nodding nodding Hurray!

Love avocados, and they're so expensive right now.

I'd avoid the avocados and opt for Margaritas myself Hilarious!

Well, if you water it down with enough tequila and lime juice, you probably could get it up a straw... would that be a "Guacarita"?

I like the sound of it. Hilarious!

I'm going to order a "Guacarita" next time I go to a Mexican restaurant just to see the look on their face. Big Grin

Back in the airport (Nice this time) waiting for my plane to London. Happy to report that of all my refrigeration rot irises (83 or 88, don't recall off hand), I seem to have lost just 2. A few others look a bit weedy, but I'm willing them to survive - they have tiny bits of green showing. It's still sunny and warm in Menton, so they have every chance. And I gave them all smart new labels while I was there. Big Grin

Wow Mika, you do move back and forth quite a bit. Don't know how you do it. I tip my hat to you. I think I would want to clone myself if I had two gardens that I loved. I have trouble going away in summer and leaving my ONE garden! That's why we vacation in winter and go south to the family in ZA. Smiling

I've always dreamed about visiting the Netherlands in spring, but it would be really tough to tear myself away from my garden in spring.

Mika, glad your damaged irises are recovering so nicely! Sounds like it was smart thinking planting them in France, just the conditions they needed to revive Thumbs up

Sharlene, good thinking vacationing in winter! That's when I'm desperate to escape the cold and crave the sun.

The idea of the Guacarita/Margamoli sounds kinda good to me. In a frozen drink I think the avocado might add a creamy, smooth texture. I've heard of avocado ice cream, so why not a Guacarita/Margamoli?

I agree Neal, I must try making a Guacarita. I'll have to do it now while all the iris vendors are closed. That way I wont wake up going....what did I order last night? D'Oh!
