I have no X's or Y's...so I'm choosing one I had to pass up earlier. It's one of Rick Tasco's creations: Artistic Web. My picture shows that the maiden bloom had much more speckling on the standards that the other photos, so it will be interesting to see how the blooms look this year. I don't know if it's the soil, climate, or if I got one with a virus....so I'll wait and see. I think it's pretty this way! Big Grin

This is the only picture I could find of Ziggy which I rotated and it does not show the broken color.

I used to have Wild Jasmine but lost it to a battle with quack grass years ago. Sad Winning Hand is on my wish list, I really love that one *Blush* Now for my "X" iris.
Xanthippe's Halo (gotta inlarge it to see it good)

I have Three Y's, Yankee Skipper, Yummy Accent, Yo Yo, and two Z's, Zounds and Zula, but no X. I guess I will go with Zula a little MTB.

This little iris is not showy by itself but the blooms, in a clump on their long thins stems, look like butterflies hovering over the garden.

I don't have any "X" cultivars, so I am going to have to go with a wish lister. As to the next couple of days, I have two "Y"s and two "Z"s; but since the numbers are limited, my guess is there will be lots of duplication. No big deal about that I guess.

Patchwork Puzzle

Patchwork Puzzle is my "A" #1 tippy-top wish lister, by far. It is not even close!

Zula is really cute! Patch Work Puzzle is really a nice one. Just got it last summer, and hope it blooms. It's like Carnival Ride on Steroids! Rolling on the floor laughing

Zula is a little cutie! Patchwork Puzzle is on my wish list also Greg. Another one that has gone on my wish list that is similar to that is Gloriafied Glenn (Tom Burseen). Doesn't quite have the big fat yellow beard as Patchwork, but still a wowzer.Probably will end up with one or the other.

Oops...sorry, don't have any x's.

Well -- *X* day is gonna be a bust for *X*s, I'm afraid. I've just done a search for Irises whose names begin with X -- and there a precious few of them, and only a couple with pictures -- one TB and one Arilbred. And the one TB is Tom's pick -- Xhanthippe's Halo.

I have that one too, but no picture yet -- so I'm gonna go choose an alternative!!

For my alternative today, I choose American Maid, a 2002 Davis cultivar:

I love this Iris because the subtle color shifts intrigue the eye, and the form is beautiful. Notice the pale yellow rim on the falls. Lovey dubby

I have no X's either, but I wonder if Filardi still has any of his X-Files. That would be one I would like to have for the name. My best friend has been calling me Scully for years so it has a special place in my heart.
