Rolling on the floor laughing If you're actually able to find this "epoxy" I'd love to know more about it and bookmark it for future reference. Smiling

I googled and got lots of hits but I personally would go to a "real" paint store - as in not HD or Lowes and talk to them about it. They seem to be tuned in for what works, etc.

I asked Hank (dh) about the concrete sealer bc we used it on the apron in front of the garage and it's mostly to keep oil and stains from soaking into the concrete.

Here's another product that I find I can never do without. It's called Mighty Putty (you can find it under other names at the Lowes, Home Depot and Marine stores). It hardens like a rock with no heat necessary. Here's a recent project that I used it for. I was given this beautiful bird feeder a few years ago by a friend of mine. The feeder pole rusted and everything fell to the ground, smashing the favorite feeder. After crying and moaning and groaning for a day or so, I decided to try to put it back together (think Humpty Dumpty!). I first thoroughly cleaned all the pieces then used super glue to put each side of the feeder back together. Once that was done, I used the Mighty Putty, kneading it as directed then rolling it out into a snake. I put the snake between the two halves of the feeder, then gently pressed and worked the excess into the joint. I also used a few pieces on the inside of the feeder to fill in the small spots where I was unable to find the missing piece. Once that was done, I blended some terracotta paints to get a close match to the original paint of the feeder, painted the new putty and it's now back just like new! Unless you look closely, you would never known that the feeder once lay in pieces on the ground. :)

Oops, missed your question Sharon. *Blush* Nothing around here, we're in the valley near the Blue Ridge Mtns so there aren't many boats around here. Which also explains why we can't get good seafood. Thumbs down

Sally, gorgeous bird feeder and excellent repair job! This is the 2nd time I've heard about this "epoxy putty" in just the last week, first time was Naomi's thread about glueing rocks together - so much helpful information here! Hurray! I've looked up the putty they have available at Lowes here locally and it's on my list of things to pick up the next time I'm there. My friend has a ceramic pot with a crack in it and I think this would work perfectly after seeing your birdfeeder. Thanks for the tip! I tip my hat to you.

Good to know they carry it. Walmart is usually closer for most folks than HD or Lowes sometimes is... Thumbs up

I was down the paint isle anyway and thought I would check it out and there it was. You're about the Walmart being closer. I have to travel 40 miles to get to it and then Lowes or HD is another 25.

I guess I will have to explore epoxy putty now. I have a Wal-Mart so close and have to pick up dog food tomorrow so guess I'll look for that.

I've got to stop myself from wanting to do everything I see in these forums. I have to finish up the projects I've got started, I have such bad habits.

I agree Pegi,

That is why I have 22 bins of crafts on the shelves! But I do use everything. Big Grin

AND we are just beginning here...I have about 2 dozen garden projects we can do together plus more form all of you. Maybe we should all retire.

DH & I have been a retired couple for 11 years, but I've discovered that "Retirement is a full time job" and I have a T-shit to prove it. Hilarious!

But, I can at least spend my time doing what I like (housework never gets done) and that means playing in the yard and sitting in front of the computer learnng about so many things to do. Seems though that spending time at doctor's offices does take up some of the precious time I could be creating wonderful garden art. Big Grin

Only been retired since 2008, but I definately agree with you Pegi. I can't believe I ever worked full time and did so much more than I do now. Doctor's visits etc do take up more time now; but where is all that "after I retire" time I thought I would have??

Sorry Boo just realized this is the Q & A thread.....backs out of the room.
