Oh I'm cookin'!!! I'm SMOKIN'!!!

Becky, you have really got me going! But, I still need the help of all of y'all! Here is what I have.... This is the garden arch. I want to hang my completed project from the center arch.

Thumb of 2011-08-03/Sossman/b32dd8

Here is my inspiration for the colors and design.

Thumb of 2011-08-03/Sossman/6de269

This is the start of my project. I found this stick out in the woods behind my house a couple of years ago and just knew it would come in handy!

Thumb of 2011-08-03/Sossman/80771b

Can you see the snake in the wood??? (you need to click on the picture to get the full effect of it). I figured to add some clay on to the "front end" where the snake's mouth is hanging open to create a better face and to add a snakey tongue, then add some more clay onto the other side to create a snakey tail. From the center I plan to hang a fish that reflects the fish in the second image above. From either end I plan to hang some frogs, lizards and seahorses, etc. to balance everything out, with maybe a frog or more hanging below the center fish.

Comments, questions, ideas, hints??? I appreciate any and all of them!!! Smiling

Oh dear, I'll do that, but I am going to need inspiration! I have been tree-mailing Charleen all day about polymer clay art stuff. I'm going to have to have her help me with the finesse on this one. But, in a word, yes. I will make a photo tutorial about this, no matter how it comes out!! Hilarious!

Thank you Sally!!!!!
I can't help you with polymer but I can with colors and balance. I still have not tried polymer. By the way, I love the stake that's your inspiration.

You can find any image you need by going to Google and then clicking on images. Once you're at Images, type your subject. Once you see everything pop up you can look for color inspiration but to get a shape, sometimes it's easy to click on CLIP ART on the left hand side. Or post your need to me in a tree mail. hahaha

I'm thinking a fish in the center to mirror the fish in the stake. Then off either end will be frogs, lizards, etc. I'll use strong fishing line to connect everything (does that sound good??) and I figured to use a small snake at the end of either side to create the necessary balance. I figured I could create a number of snakes in various sizes so I could pick and choose the correct size snake to make sure the whole thing balances well. All the figures would be two dimensional (to make it easier in baking and creating) and additional details could be added with paint if necessary.

Please pitch in if any of you have other ideas! This is all new to me, and I really would appreciate any ideas, hints and tips that anyone has. Color, design, whatever....I'd love them all. Smiling I need to go to Jo-Ann's tomorrow to get more Sculpey (as long as it's on sale) and then the project begins!!! Smiling

OK, now that I have been looking at the mobile out in the yard, I am not liking the turtles at the bottom so much. Kinda weird looking and blah. I'm thinking of switching them out.....but with what??? Hot pink Flamingos??? Bright blue lizards??? Any comments - suggestions - advice?

These are adorable, Sally!.

How about making a blue circle around the red dot in each to introduce another color?

I don't see anything bad about the turtles. But "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
