I need some advise from your garden art gurus. Smiling I need a hanging / dangling thingie to hang from my garden arch until the vines fill it in. I love bright, primary colors and I love whimsey. I also need easy and inexpensive, able to stand up to the hot Florida sun and weather! Does anyone have a project that they would like to share with me? Pretty please???? Smiling

Sally, go look at what Tee has been creating on the Create-a-ball thread. Would that work or are you wanting something different?

Let me roll this around in my brain while I check out our threads. Big Grin

How large do you want it?
Do you want just one or maybe 3?

Probably just one. It will hang from the center of my garden arch that sits over the garden pond (so can't leach anything that might get into the pond). I had a hummingbird feeder hanging there but since I have so many plants in the yard, the hummer never touches the feeder and the syrup goes bad real fast. So I was thinking of doing something artistic out there. Unfortunately, the artistic part of my brain seems to have gone on vacation!!! Rolling on the floor laughing

Question....can polymer clay objects handle the outdoor weather? If so, I just had an idea!!! I just got a few packs of bright hot colors of Sculpey clay at Jo-ann's at half price. I can find a fish cookie cutter and make a fish mobile! Maybe I can find a seahorse cutter and/or other sea type cutters and vary it up. There is a flea market near me that has a big kitchen store that has cookie cutters galore. I'm thinking I can find something to work with this. What do you think????

Sally I think that sounds very cute...and pond related. Yes, according to Charleen, the polymer can be outside. It may fade over time, not sure...but so what? It's inexpensive and fun to make.

You can actually create your own seahorse. Want to know how?

I just had to see if you were as glued to garden art today as I am, Sally! Rolling on the floor laughing

I am part Cherokee Indian and we call this an "Old Indian Trick".

Use a piece of glass to work on. Under your glass you slip this seahorse (or any image!) and mold your clay over it! TADA! Big Grin

This link shows you other seahorses.

Oh, we white face love old indian tricks!!! Rolling on the floor laughing Saved that image to my craft file in my photo logs. I think my artistic side came back from vacation and now I have a ton of ideas for this thing! It just needed a prompt to bring it on. Thank you so much!!! Smiling
