Couple thoughts on the badge feature:

Quite some time ago it was suggested that all the animal badges be renamed so they are consistent - we currently have 'raises x' 'lover of x' and a couple others. I think just the name of the animal is sufficient: cows, cats, chickens. You may raise them, keep them, or just love them.

Along those lines, it was also talked about reorganizing the badges so all the animals were together, the plant specific badges were together, etc. I believe this was done with the regions.

I would encourage folks to come up with proposals for their specific regions that are more descriptive rather than simply an outline of the state or the state flag. Good examples: Georgia peach, SW cactus, Nebraska windmill.

As noted earlier, I cleaned out my badges as too busy-looking for me. I would have liked the option to simply 'hide' badges I previously bought or earned but no longer wanted to display rather than deleting them. But, over and done with. It does appear that buying badges is about the only thing to do with the acorns, so perhaps a bit of an update would be nice.

OK, I read through this thread and tried my hand at creating a microbadge for Azaleas. Followed Dave's instructions. I just hope it works. It's 32x32 and PNG image. And I emailed it to him. Now to wait and see what happens. Smiling

So, here's perhaps a funny glitch. I deleted all my badges except for the PNW regional one. For some reason, a yellow butterly badge keeps sneaking back onto my profile. I think this was an 'earned' badge if I remember correctly, but forget how exactly it was earned. Anyway, I don't pay much attention to butterflies and will try to once again delete the jolly yellow bug.

I'd love a badge for carnivorous plants. Maybe if I have time, I'll try to design something. Smiling

Ha ha - the dang yellow butterfly is back on my profile. I have no idea why this thing keeps re-attaching itself to me. Not a big deal, but a bit annoying. @jon ?

There's probably an automated script that adds it to members' profiles. @dave can probably disable it for you.

Any chance for a South Dakota badge? I recognize that there may not be enough NGA members living in SD…

When I click "buy this badge," it shows up as the "region_sd" badge, not the "Region: SD" badge. Not a big deal, of course.

What about a Certified Master Gardener badge? Can be generic (not state specific). Maybe a "MG" in green.
