Kadie, this is where I learned a lot of things about plumeria. Before I joined the forum I had only 2 plumerias and was quite happy with them. When I stumbled on this forum I can't even tell you exactly how many I got now. From seedlings, newly potted cuttings and mature trees.
Ken the only difference I noticed between my Dwarf Pink Singapore and my compact ones (Divine, Mini white and Thumbelina), the latter ones have thicker branches just like Celadine. DPS have skinny branches, some are thinner than my fingers. Both the dwarf and compacts would bloom on 2 inches length tips. The main trunk /branches are long but the tips are short. each blooming tip may produce 3 to 4 tips, which could produce inflo on same year of growth thus the tips multiply faster.
The compact cuttings when planted could grow to 12 inches on the first year of planting and once it starts blooming the new tips get shorter. The DPS cuttings on the other hand grow really slow. I have an almost 2 year old DPS that may bloom this year (3 tips) but is only 7 inches tall. And almost 3 years old in June (7 tips) that is only 18 inches tall.
The blooms are impressive but I didn't notice their blooms last year:
