Hey, I only wish my yard could be jungle-like!
With all the orchids, staghorns, bromeliads, and tillandsia on shelves and hanging under my oaks and cedars, that part of the yard (back yard) sort of looks jungle-like, but in the fall, those trees are truly barren, no plants and no leaves.
Even though you said I would not see inflorescence for three years, I take a peak at those two "monsters" every day. Hope runs eternal, right?
You know, Hetty, I am always taking cuttings with inflorescences during the summer and I not only root them without problems but don't know that I have ever stopped flowering from occurring. Perhaps I am simply lucky or perhaps I grow more vigorous varieties. I don't know. It always amazes me to read that someone has had a plumeria (not a tiny seedling) that has never bloomed in five years. I have seen these comments dozens of times over the last couple of years. I just can't imagine waiting five years and never seeing a flower. Sort of like orchids, these plants are not exactly gorgeous when not in flower.
