It only had a few gigantic leaves when I faced digging it up for the dump. What a job that was! Temptation is not necessarily a good thing.

A few weeks ago i was visiting a friend who was laying down stone chippings around the sides of his house and as he was placing the anti weed matting down i spotted one Spathiphyllum,'Peace Lily',..i took it home and divided it into three,..i love getting plants like this,..a rescue.

The main plant and one of the smaller ones,..looking healthy.

It's like a fantasy land! What is the purple plant all around the base of the palm? And what is that palm, if it even is a palm? I love it; it looks so tropical.

Hi Sue,..i get sunbeams in the garden in certain spots and at the same time reduced light in other areas,..there are trees and gaps in the walls on either side of the garden which makes the garden look better Hilarious! or worse Shrug! .

Hi Jeanie,..fantasy land,..i like that description,..the garden is so full of blooms just now that i can not find garden tools that i leave down Blinking ,..oh the purple plant around the base of the tree is Campanula portenschlagiana,..the tree is a Yucca aloifolia,'Spanish Bayonet' of which i have two,..about 13 years old and were growing around the base of a parent plant about to be destroyed.

Hi Debra,..ah that Fuchsia is really coming into itself just now,..it might bring back memories to you if they were in bloom during your visit here,..sleep,..yikes hardly got any as i was too tired,..so was Molly,.. i walked the six mile doggy walk and a tad more,..over did it Rolling my eyes.

Philip, we were there in late August/early September, I think. Don't remember any flowers, but, then that was 1992 and I wasn't in gardener mode until I got my house in 2004. Big Grin

Edited to add: Um, yes, I'd say more than six miles miiiight be pushing it just a tad.

I think many of us have the sun/shade issue. I know that I do, and it does make photography difficult.
The yucca is wonderful...how tall is it? And I have campanula 'Blue Waterfall' which appears to be similar, but is not nearly as big as yours. It looks really neat growing around the yucca like that.
Six miles? Good for you, and I bet Molly loved it. I hope you had a nap afterwards.

Thanks Arlene,..some more views i omitted due to my going to bed coming along.

Hi Debra,..yes i can well understand not having your own garden at the time,.. you wouldn't be fully focused on blooms then,..oh one VERY tired Molly lagging behind.

Jeanie both Yucca are approx six foot tall,..not very high seeing how long i have them but i guess we need longer periods of warm weather,..many of those Campanula look similar when in bloom,..mine tend to creep high if there is something to cling to.

Poor Molly is showing her age,.. she is approx 12 years old,.. i say approx as i got her when she was about 12 months old back in 2004,..so doggy wise she must be about 84 Sighing!
