Blooming today:

(It looks fuzzy until you expand it...don't know why?)

...and speaking of chimeras, here's an odd bud on Autumn Thunder, wonder what this one will look like when it opens?

I got a picture of Mariposa Sky sent to me from a friend in Arizona. It's one of my children Whistling I sent to her 2 years ago. Looks like it's doing great.

I'd say it is doing very very well. Nice!

Like Beachgirl. Reminds me a bit of English Charm color wise. And please post another pic of Glo-Ray when it opens fully. I think that is such a pretty one. Smiling

That bud looks to be missing some parts. Guess you find out!

It looks like the scape contained a flower and a half... I will definitely take another picture when it opens. I'll get one of Glo-Ray Hallelujah too. Thumbs up

She told a lady at a garden center back when I was sending them that she was getting some irises, and she told her she was wasting her time, that they'd ever grow there. I gave her some pointers about using mulch to cover the rhizomes, planting so it only got a half day of morning sun, and how to regulate water, and look what it's produced.

I can see how Glo-Ray got its name, it sure glows.

It is a luminata. I have one ordered this year. Smiles

Well, I don't know what to say... I got 'Yankee Skipper' from Schreiners in '07.. Here's another one that's a little more blue in than it is in reality.. there is some veining, but all the pictures I have of it have a very prominent blotch. I wonder if it's possibly 'Little Episode', or 'Smart'? Funny how we just take it for granted that we get what we order.. You should see my 'Starship Enterprise'

Looks more like 'Smart', but of course you need another to test. We no longer have it.

It can be discouraging when you get a wrong one, but at least it's a nice one.

It can be discouraging. I bought Honky Tonk Hussy two years ago and waited - not too patiently - for its bloom. It turned out to be an SDB. The little dwarf was very nice purplish black with a mustard brown beard and I liked it. I ordered HTH again this year. I named that little dwarf *Not HTH* and I am going to move it to the NoID dwarf bed this summer.

I hate it when people just have to rain on someone's parade. Angry

Glad that you gave her good advice, Tom -- and glad that she took it! Exactly right -- look what it produced!!! Hurray!

Love the shots Marilyn!! Why did I not add that as one of my bonuses? Duh!

My Smart is a bit brighter in color. More violet, even in shade.
