My neighbor thinks 'Candy Apple Classic' might be close to a match... No clue as to who brought it to the sale... but I intend to query folks...

It sure looks a lot like Candy Apple Classic, it has those gorgeous brown beards, but CAC is not listed as having a fragrance.

A couple of these Dutch Iris popped into bloom... 'Eye of the Tiger'

My pale yellow historic NOID has put on an incredible amount of growth over the past year. This bloom stalk is over 40". Lots more coming. I'm excited to see this one come into it's own.

My Candy Apple is blooming now and it looks a lot like that. I'll smell mine tomorrow and see if it's fragrant. I'll also take some close up shots.

I think they are wonderful Barbara. And well played.

Sherry - I think all iris have a fragrance, even those not listed for having one. There certainly isn't one bearded in my gardens that has no scent. Some are just stronger scents, and those are the ones that get listed as fragrant iris..

I'll have some PCI's tomorrow.. Barbara, I wonder if your white one is Canyon Snow?

Regarding scent in Iris.. When I say fragrant, I mean that it smells nice... Some Iris smell like cat pee.. and I wouldn't call those fragrant unless I was being sarcastic.

Having a scent and having a fragrance are not necessarily the same.

I'm seeing a lot of stalks forming now.. Today 'Phalanx' opened with it's maiden bloom.
