The plants steal the show, Leslie. The group of three two Nosferatu is still promising. The yellow one turned out to be Ray Jones. I recognize it because I have another start of it. The stalks on the other two are shorter and are taking longer to bloom but one is showing a dark color at the tip so I am hopeful, Leslie. You get the first increase.

I have bloom stalks on Thornbird, Dazzling Sarah - with color showing, on Baditude and Buckwheat. I have several on the IB's but was not expecting them this soon on the TB's. We are weeks ahead of bloom time for the TB's.

Yes, Neal, Awake is soooo charming. It is two shades of the same color and the form is very nice.

Here are a few more of this mornings blooms

Thank you, Celia, yes it does increase rapidly.

Paul, I was expecting a little peach coloring on it with the lavender markings. I bought that particular plant at a nursery that has a good reputation. It may be that this is its first bloom but it does not look like AJ at all to me. It has good substance and is pretty but I think it is going to be a noid. I am going to have to create a noid bed for all the lovely wrong ones I have bought. And on top of it all now I don't have Absolute Joy. whine.....

Oh but I love Celtic Fairy!

I agree that I would expect more peach on Absolute Joy. But that bloom still looks familiar..... Going to have to think about it.

Imagine if the little noids make bee pods and more little noids? Hurray!

I hear of folks throwing out seedlings that just don't make the pick. I decided I couldn't bear to do that and I was going to plant poor performers above the river by the walking trails. Then I read an article about the pauper graves. I have walked by them. There are markers for babies from long ago, and markers no longer legible. People put pinwheels there. I decided it would be a good place to put mediocre seedlings. The seedlings are still pretty and will make people happy.
Don't make fear based decisions.

And Linnea, remember that these people had nothing in life so while you are planting extras be sure and take something special to plant there also. I keep the old cemeteries around here well planted. A lot of people take plants from the cemeteries. I don't mind but I wish they would bring something when they took something. But it's all OK. Smiles.

Bonnie - the photographers that were shooting in your gardens... does this mean they will be published somewhere? How wonderful that would be. Details needed!

Leslie, the gentleman that is taking the photos is with the iris society. He used to live in CA and took wonderful photos of PCI's growing in their native habitat. He makes slide shows and presents them at AIS venues. He used to be a big orchid photographer but now is doing bearded irises. I have some that are older and hard to find so he asked if he could come and take photos and I said yes. He was really nice and I asked him to shoot around any weeds and leaves but he said his camera blocks out everything but the iris. no worries. Lol

Big storm system headed our way right now. I can hear the thunder and it sounds mighty. I hope we do not get hail. After the front passes I will post the photos of the ones I took today but I am going to get off here and follow the weather now.

Oh Bonnie, that is wonderful!!! The photos, not the hail. Hope he shares some of his pics with you. Smiling

We had some hail in the area last night as large as grapefruit! Thumbs down Thumbs down Hope it leaves you alone. Lots of tornadoes in Illinois right now.

I hope that the big storm misses you. The tornado warnings on the NBC news looked dangerous.
