Fred, you must have the magic touch as everything you show is so beautiful.
Lady your so kind, I am so glad you don't see all the dogs that's barking here.

Betty your always at the top of the list for anything I grow.

Becky your right, a lot of daylilies have been used just because we like the plant habit and bloom, myself included. When I decide to focus on a certain goal I want to use things that I think will get me there, which of course doesn't always work.
A couple of sibs.

I haven't had much luck with frozen pollen working for me. Now I have had luck with picking a flower, putting it in the fridge and using the pollen the next day.

The thread "Pollen-ways to store it" in Daylilies forum

This is an older thread from a few years back, talks about pollen. May be time to start a new pollen thread or revive that one.

Pam, I have followed all the pollen storage ways in the past and still cannot get frozen pollen to work for me.

Well with all your flowers, at least you always have some good choices with fresh pollen. I never had trouble with the frozen pollen, but only store limited seedling pollen now. I just found that it was more fun to let mother nature pick and just go with whats blooming on a given day. I will leave it out to dry if I know something good is coming in a day or two, thats about it. I find pollen containers in the freezer annoying, and I dont have an outside freezer.

Fred - Dragonfly Dawn x Buddy's Wild and Wonderful is outstanding!!! I like the larger blooms like that one. What a beaut! I also like the siblings of Storm Brew and Wild Dreams.

Well no such luck with the refrigerated pollen. It wouldn't fluff up. Angry

I have only unknown seedlings in the front yard garden border (which is a border of various daylily seedlings).

When this one bloomed the first bloom, it never quite fully opened up. I didn't care for it at all. But today, it had 2 blooms that looked like a daffodil. After seeing these two blooms on it today, I am warming up to this daylily. This is how it looked at 5 pm this afternoon. Instead of being all floppy and wilted, it looked quite good:

Two new ones. First one is CCC23 (Bette Davis Eyes x Embrace the Moment). This is a tiny bloom at 3" with a 9" scape. No eye pattern, but it does have a slight ruffled edge like Embrace the Moment. Only 4 buds.

Thumb of 2015-04-28/beckygardener/50b4da

The other first time to bloom daylily is an unknown parentage seedling. Bright orange bloom with a magenta ring around the yellow eye (CCC24). 5" bloom on a 20" scape with 5 buds. I like the bright orange color.:

Mike ( @Hazelcrestmikeb ) - I really love this seedling with another bloom (CCC19 - Francis of Assisi x unknown). It's got great colors, nice texture on the petals, and ruffles are really starting to show up! This is a real sweetheart of a bloom! I really love it! Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

And another bloom on CCC15 (Drink the Light x God Save the Queen) is also really showing off. This is from one of Sandi's seeds.

Two very nice seedlings! Lovey dubby Big Grin

Becky I think you need to let the pollen dry before putting the bloom in the frig.

I took this photo at 7am yesterday morning and it measured eleven inch's, I removed it
and brought it the house because we were having storms again and I wanted
Kathleen to see it. By 9am, it being a UF had done its thing and made a really nice bloom.

The great thing about that seedling to me is it opens fully. I really dont like foldover petals, its hard to get one perfect tho.

This is all I like at all this morning.. Little Sea Sprite x Super Fancy Face

Looks like it has possibilities. Thumbs up
Probably needs to be mixed with another pattern to really bring out the patterned eye.
