Dandelions are my nemesis. (As they probably are for any gardener.) To think I used to bring my mom handfuls of the things when I was a kid. I loved picking the "pretty" flowers. Hey, at least it kept that particular one from going to seed. Hilarious!

Somebody walked by my yard and said, "nice garden. Too bad about the violets in the lawn". LOL

Now we are prohibited from using weed control products other than diggers. Personally, I think people should be allowed to grow as many dandelions as they wish, but should be subject to a fine if they let them go to seed en masse.

Ann, didn't realize Canada banned them all. My guess is many generations after you will have a lot to be thankful for. When it comes to our health, I'm not so sure the risks outway the benefits. My garden is plagued with ground cover ivy but I'm begining to embrace those little blue flowers.

Susan, I don't think all of Canada. It's a provincial thing. In Ontario, we have bans. although I'm still able to buy ant nest destroyer (fortunately). I haven't looked carefully enough at what the active ingredients are to be able to tell you off hand.
