THANKS TO EVERYONE for the wonderful goodies! And to Ellen and her team for setting everything up.
Sorry I wasn't much help this year with all that. Next year! Hopefully, I will have Dahlia's to share form the Oregon Dahlia Society!
Again, thanks for sharing!

Mickey

P.S. Annette - don't worry about the Iris' - next year! Let me know how that soil works out for you, there's
plenty more where it came from! It would be a nice ride out to you. http://garden.org/i/s/hurray.g...

Thanks so much for organizing the swap, Oerickson and hubby! ANd to everyone who helped and brought wonderful things--and took plants off my hands. It was so nice to see all of you.

Jqsen, you left your daffodils from Linnea in the holding area. Oerickson has them.

Windigogo, I'm sorry we didn't get to meet you. I know things can pop up and get in the way. I should have thought to check this thread when we started wondering if you and DonnaM were coming, it was very good of you to post an update.

Mickey, I still feel so bad about the irises, I scoured this thread to double-check and still missed adding it to my sheet--because I did it late at night I'm sure. I will be gathering a few nice irises for you as they bloom and I can ID color (almost all are growing together. And some are in pots already and the label lost). They can live in pots until next year or you can plant them this year, it's up to you!

Both the garden and cottage in Indiana are chaos, if it were only one or the other I would have people over, but with it being both no one is allowed! The roof leaks and raccoons keep getting in the attic so all the attic stuff is stuffed everywhere, then the water spigot shutoff was leaking so that closet is emptied and I tore out that closet's wall...good times! Some sections of the garden look nice at least, thank goodness.

I had worked late on Thursday, so I could leave early on Friday, and got called in to a meeting for a new project I'll be working on. Couldn't say no, but I am so disappointed that I couldn't make it.

Thank you everyone for the swap- it is you who make it happen year after year, so much fun and my garden has so many memories!
Deb, my friend lives in Des Planes, hmm, am not sure if she is member of the club. Will check. There is always next year- same date and hopefully same place!
Depending on date/time I would love to check out DesPlanes event!

I just realized that I won't be able to make it to this, I have a dog show in Woodstock next Saturday. For some reason I was thinking it was in June.

Thank you Ellen and all the helpers for a great swap. If there were any plants left that need a home my husband informed me yesterday that the house we are rehabbing needs vegetation. I'd be happy to pick the plants up. You can reach me at 847-370-2293 - Fern

Fern, I got back few of my anemone seedlings, some geranium phaeum, wood aster, also there was artemisia left over, forsynthia small seedling, maybe something else but not much. Gals did good job moving plants and few people picked up some leftovers right at the end.
You are welcome to whatever few left, I have no problems keeping it for next year.

I got some magic beans from the swap. I can't find any info on web, would like to know if they are edible?

Today weather turned very cold and windy. I have planted some of the tomato, pepper and eggplants not sure if they will survive the cold.

Thanks

Jasmine, they looked like they were a dried edible bean. The Magic Beans were cute but it would have been nice if he/she had named them so people could feel sure about eating them. If it looks like a normal bean plant I myself would eat it.

I'm finally starting to plant out some of the swap plants--they sat in my car for almost a week before I was able to go to Indiana (in a parking garage in the shade)

In years past the most special plants would wait the longest for me to plant them out, since I wanted the perfect spot for them. Lots of them died waiting to be planted. Now I stick them in the ground, anywhere, so they won't die in a pot. Has anyone else had that unfortunate habit?

Oerickson, I visited gweb and saw you'd posted about the swap in the forum. That was a good idea.

It's been quite cool by the lake but I've been getting strawberries for almost a week!

Annette, thanks for the info about magic bean. I am sorry to hear that you lost some plants. I have planted almost everything from swap and they all look good. They all survived during 39 degree weather. Thanks for the treasure I got from you and others. can't wait to see them grow and bloom. My perennial foxglove has buds.

I only lost plants after previous swaps, I'm hoping to avoid that form now on!

I am a little late but been so busy. Thank you all for bringing the food and plants, especially Ellen and Doug for setting everything up.

I have planted most everything. The tomatoes have already put on several inches! Putting together a nice planting container with the last few things today.

Mickey, I still have your daylily. I am saving it for you. And will be in touch. Maybe I can do a drop off some time this month at your house as you are not far.

Ellen, I have a white trillium for you I just aquired. Same, when I think I'll be in the area I'll send you an email.
