Received a little over 3/4" in about an hour, sure did need it. But with the good comes the bad, high winds with the rain beat down my Fall Okra, some new cucumbers and some pepper plants. Man this crazy weather Confused

Thanks Cheryl, I haven't seen it come down like that in a while. It's usually a very peaceful sound coming down the rain chains, it was so loud we couldn't hear each other, Smiling

I'm sure the heat still defrosted the lil fridge fast @ Bubbles

I cleaned my car up real well, waxed it then started seeing we were going to get rain

Ken, I grabbed my mounted orchid last week to dunk it in one of my rain barrels. Paper wasps were building a nest behind it, for whatever reason (grateful) they didn't try to to get my skin, they kept hitting my wide brim hat. I will have to watch it everyday. We have so many wasps this year

Finally Smiling someone who agrees with me with the wasp situation, I had a huge nest under my patio table, and they keep trying to nest by my front door. My husband thinks I'm exaggerating. Have you noticed an increase in slugs as well?

Winds knocked down my pink pudica plumeria. A few leaves broke but the inflo is safe. Yeah, I liked that rain. That's all the rain for a time for us. Time to get stinking hot again!

Anyone in Texas just over this heat (and humidity, of course)?! IDK why it's been so hard on me this year?? We need a break!! Crossing Fingers! Sighing!

I think the cool, wet spring did not prepare us and the summer heat seems worse by comparison.

I agree with you all, my old age just cannot handle the heat like I use to could...however with that said, I will still take this over a cold winter's day.

Have a good one Green Grin!

I agree. I think it also did not prepare the plants either. It's essential to provide them some moisture, but dangerous to the point of being lethal to do it in these conditions. I'm having trouble getting it right in some cases Crying .

I dread going out to the greenhouses. I'll have to agree getting older mean less able to tolerate the heat. At least when I have to make some RO water I can sit under one of my shade trees while the unit is working. I have to water my Brugs about every other day or the leaves just hang down like they're going to snap off.

Greenhouse? What's that? OH! You mean the place that is 109º in the shade?? smh I have to go in there tomorrow to water the plant inside. I love having that pothos in there on top of my potting bench but it must suffer. Might have to rethink that one and replace it with a succulent! We had 108º Heat Index with no change in sight. My feet are getting wider and wider because I'm slowly melting!!

I've got two Cheryl, one in the sun where it's up around 120+ in the afternoon (no plants in there at the moment) and the other is under a nice big shade tree with my Orchids, Plumeria seedlings, Adenium seedlings and other plants. It's temps run from around 77low to 98high. Come winter I'll make some cinder block shelving in the sunny one for all my succulents and so forth.

Triple-digit heat here today, so I'm bunkered down with a fan blowing full-blast on me, since my A/C can't handle that much heat anymore. Hot even in the house. Tomorrow the weather is supposed to change, with the clouds and chances rain starting. Once we get to Sunday, it is forecasted to get as high as 50% chance for two days! Hurray!

Hmm, it seems to be shrinking a tad but we've got high chances all week. It's down to 77 from 103 about about 4pm
