I had three new blooms in the garden this morning, but due to rain and a late opening of 'Red Volunteer' I only managed to get photos of 'Orange Velvet' and 'Primal Scream'. Later in the day all three were looking much better, but the rain made it impossible to get a decent photo by then. All three of these were the first flower to open ever for me on these plants.

I'm with Char on Mixed Berry Jam. Yummy!

I got chased out by rain this morning but got a few pics. This season is already memorable for favorite new plants and today I found another. Dreamy Drawing is a beautiful as advertized. I'm very happy with it.

I'm including this pic as a lesson illustration. I had about 5 plants die to the ground this winter. When I dug them up the crowns and roots looked fine but they just didn't "wake up" in Spring, or so I thought. A month after I thought this was dead It put up leaves. Don't give up on them!

Blooms in the garden today, some FFOE, some FFO and some just new blooms.
'Corryton Pink', I purchased this plant at Oaks when I went up to Tennessee, surprised the first bloom this year does not look better.

I had a nice surprise when I went down to the garden today: A new NOID had bloomed and it was in what I call my seedling bed, even though I don't think this is actually a seedling, (it is possible). I don't have any idea where it came from, being I don't recall having anything like it last year, some of the plants in this bed are transplants(Crimson Pirate and My Path), I know of for sure. I must do a much better job of tagging plants in that bed. Anyhow here it is I I think it is beautiful.

Some for today. Here is Wild And Wonderful. It was a new plant last spring and aborted the scapes which was probably due the transplanting stress. The throat is very green. I'll see what it is at the end of the day.

Square Dancer's Curtsy today. This is splashy! I'm having some trouble with the foliage, but I'm pretty sure it's my potting mix. It's healthy enough, but not good color.

Larry, you had several beauties today. I can see why you were grinning!

Donald, I must get Square Dancer's Curtsey someday. I've always liked the pics I've seen of it.

I've only had bloom for a couple of weeks but it's already one of the best seasons I've had in years. I've been so pleased with most of the new things I've seen bloom. You know when you buy things based on pics but are not sure how they'll be in your garden? I had another real treat today. Tim Herrington's Pea Green with Envy bloomed for the first time. Man! Does this have a green throat. Teresa B., I've got to send you some of this!

Pea Green with Envy - FFE

Lyle's Ada Minkler had her first bloom this morning. Even without the throat ruffling she is a sight to behold.
