I picked some tomatoes also. I was really surprised to still have tomatoes to pick.

Never thought about it, but there's a whole abandoned box of carrots in community garden. Must they be harvested before first frost? I was only worried about tomatoes, lettuce eggplant. Got some lettuce and peppers yesterday. Then I still have to bring in plants from my garden that I am over wintering

Don't think those tiny squash will make it!

I have tiny ones also but was thinking of just pulling out my plants anyway.

I picked them off....will add them to a stir-fry.....Jan, you don't have to dig the carrots now.....I just like to do it before the ground freezes, & it was a warm, sunny day to dig.....

Freeze warnings for tonight so anything left in the veggie gardens might be toast tomorrow.

we didn't get the freeze but still it is really chilly for this time of year.

I had ordered some more tomato seeds as I plan on starting mine from see next spring. Found some truly unusual varieties at Secret Seed Cartel-

Don't blame you......I'm always looking for something a bit different to try each year in the garden.....this year it was red okra, which did very well since it was so hot & dry.......

2015 veggies are done for but of course I am planning for next spring already. Have lost track of how many tomato seeds I have already ordered.

But just now I went to Johnnys Seeds and ordered. I ordered the Artisan Tomato collection. Had to have those!!

Then I could not decide between Flying Saucer and Y-Star pattypan summer squash so I ordered both of them. Can't wait to try pattypans next season.

Did my fall cleanup at my house today, actually went much better than anticipated thanks to a fairly windless day. Got the remaining dead stuff out of the garden and dumped 4 yards of fresh compost on top, tilled it all in. Then I threw some unbroken down leaf litter on top of it and tilled it again. I'll add more fresh compost in the spring and other than that there won't be much more, if anything for me to add to this thread until the new year!

Until then veggie freaks!

Planted some garlic a couple of weeks ago. Both inside and out. Trying an experiment, growing lettace inside for winter harvesting.

I started some outside. It germinated in October and I brought them inside to grow at the sunny bay window in the kitchen. So far, so good.
