They're being placed on display all around town, like the ones in Chicago. We took pics of a few of them, but it was so hot! Decided to go out early in the morning. There were some really colorful ones, but in spots where we couldn't safely stop.

Dumb weather.

I missed "moosaics"......... Hilarious!

Seattle has pigs I think...I was there, just can't remember.

We should do something like that here in Garden Art...pick a particular animal and decorate them how ever we want. How could we organize that so we started with the same thing? Anyone? Anyone?

They are neat, but it's just too hot to really enjoy looking. I hope to find some more around town and get photos of all of them. Glad you like 'em.

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! AngL is here too! Let the weekend begin!

I thought I'd let you all know about a project I will post soon....just to get YOU excited and me accountable. I can't post it until I am finished but if you're anything like me, anticipation is sweet.

Vic already knows...and she can't wait. Big Grin (Do not try bribing her to tell you about it because she doesn't know the details Rolling on the floor laughing )

It's a Faux Tile Mosaic. I have thought about it a long time...at least 4 years. I wondered about it, designed it, played with it and wondered again. And finally because of our Garden Art forum, I made myself experiment and it's very cool and I'm very happy!

I have never tried real mosaic although I must have at least 5 books on it. I adore it. Lovey dubby And someday when I have a really big workshop, I will cover a table I have with special tiles that mean something to my heart.

I have two versions of the FAUX MOSAIC.. Yes, that's right:TWO VERSIONS! Hurray! Hurray!

So.......are you excited to learn? No sharp edges or tile clippers for this fun project. I hope to show you by Wednesday night or sooner.

So, don't throw eggs at me for teasing you, okay? Big Grin

I'm ready and waiting for the Faux Tile Mosaic project! I've got time right now. Whistling I'll be too busy by 5:00 AM though.

I like the idea of us all covering something, the same thing, too. What fun to see what everybody would come up with. I love that last cow! Thumbs up Thumbs up

Chris, you're up and I haven't gone to bed. Rolling on the floor laughing

I'm glad you commented on that because I really think it would be fun to all cover the same thing. We could find something that most Walmarts carry....they have a craft area. Or we could make it a kind of generic something...for the garden of course.
Maybe you can let your mind thing about it while I sleep. Big Grin

Off to find some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's! Hurray!

Oooh, right up my alley! I just started playing with mosaics last winter but I'm already hooked! Love those "moosaics". Hilarious! Years ago I saw mosaic pigs displayed in a town along the coast of Maine but that was WAY before I ever had any interest in it. Last month I saw some incredible sculptures in D.C. - was thinking about posting them here but should we start a new thread for Mosaics? Confused

"Faux" mosaic you say? Sounds verrrry interesting. Big Grin I'll get the eggs ready just in case you keep us hanging too long. What a tease! Hilarious!

One of the projects I'd like to tackle this winter is a "faux" stained glass window with tempered glass. Should be a "cheap" project...our glass top patio table broke last winter so I saved ALL the pieces and I got the window for $2.00! Thumbs up

It's Saturday, does that mean Vicki will be back soon? I agree We miss you! Lovey dubby

Debbie, I think Vic is going to get her hard drive today. Hurray! Hurray!

Also, Debbie and everyone, feel free to create a thread anytime. IOr if you just want to show one or two things, here is fine too. I mostly care about threads to be on their own so we can easily search for things. Did you all know we have a search box just for Garden Art? Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! YAY DAVE!!!!

How about everyone cover a styrofoam ball. Cheap, easily obtainable, won't take much work just incase someone doesn't like doing it (can't imagine that happening with group though) and if they like it they can do a bunch of them to put around a garden bed for decoration.
