Thanks so much!

Michael just left and for the first time since ATP opened, I'm not reading threads except this one. I need a little coffee break for energy. I promise to be back later this evening. Group hug Just very tired right now...my energy is gone. Blinking

I have a question for all you artistic folks Thumbs up

I have several 5 gallon buckets. Some are black and some are white and some of the white ones have advertising on them. They're plastic. Any ideas how to make them planters? Remembering the ugly rims where the lids and I can remove the handles or leave them if you have any ideas for that as well.

Ideas?? Suggestions?? Questions?? Comments?? Points for discussion?? Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Vicki, I knew if I searched long enough I'd find it, another reason to organize my Favorites! Sticking tongue out I always wanted to try this and I don't see why it wouldn't work with the 5 gallon buckets. They used black nursery pots here, added pipe insulation to form a rolled rim and painted them. Thumbs up http://www.gardengatenotes.com... At the very least you'd have to prime the pots with a bonding primer. I get mine at Sherwin Williams and have them tint it gray because most of the colors I choose are dark to paint plastic containers. Krylon Fusion should work real well but it could tend to be expensive if you want really good coverage. Make sure to show us what you decide to do with your buckets! I'm all ears!

Oh Debbie - thank you so very very much! Hurray! Hurray!

I have tons of geraniums that I over-winter and have had for years and they love the big pots. I grew quite a few more from seed this year and they are needed transplanted.

Thanks again! I'm so appreciative. Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

That is a great idea about using pipe insulation to make rolled edges/rims. And sprayed with that paint that dries to look like stone would make any old cheap pot or bucket look great! My head is starting to swim thinking about all the ideas I've read here. Thumbs up
I garden for the pollinators.

I have used Krylon Spray paint a lot. I buy it at Walmart...best prices. And it covers so well. Royal Blue is my favorite!

Vic, I also like the handles left on for easier carrying.

I think I have a piece of pipe insulation down in the garage too. Yes, handles on, if possible, is the way I like to go with buckets too. Thumbs up

OMG!!! I am sooo excited!!! Found someone selling the entire contents of an arts and crafts studio for next to nothing. I first went over there to buy some polymer clay supplies and after the awesome deal I got and after negotiating with the guy (he bought the place on foreclosure and had no idea what he had) I will be taking over all the stuff! My front room, spare room and garage will be filled to overflowing with all the supplies and I will have so much work before me organizing and dividing the stuff into their separate craft categories, but once done will have some awesome package deals for the crafty minded person. Can't wait to get my hands into all the boxes!!! I'm gonna be like a kid in a candy store!!! I'll probably be sick of crafts when I am done............NOT!!!! LOL

The clay seems very malleble. I played with some of it today and it does not seem "old". Can't wait to play with some of the molds!! Smiling Included in the box of clay was a little bottle of clay softener liquid......how cool is that????? LOL

Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing that is what will help the drier clay. Very good. Did you get some liquid sculpy too? It helps to bond the clay together when you bake it. You will love your new hobby. Now you need some Christi Friesen books and you will be cookin' Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!
