We are getting that tonight, though it has been blowing 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph, all day. We are supposed to get 4-6" of rain over the next 12 hrs. with gusts to 60 mph and pretty much the entire state of Mississippi is under a flash flood warning.

We had that weather a few days ago - gusts up to 60 here. Blew over 30 feet of my neighbor's 7 foot wooden fence.

We got that over the past few days - over 2 inches of rain (finally) in the past day. Good luck Ken.

It also amazes me that it can be that long ago...

Up at 1:20 this morning with tornado sirens wailing. It has been raining cats and dogs all night and still is pounding us. The rain gauge says 6.25". At least the damaging storms/winds have passed (I hope).

I promised a lady I would get her orchids shipped out today but I may have to break that promise. The forecast is for heavy rain to continue all morning and if I can't get the plants inside for packing and out for pickup by 10:30, I will have missed my opportunity. Sighing!

That's an awful lot of rain to come down in a short time period, Ken! (I think you would be completely justified if you aren't able to get those plants mailed out Blinking )

Thumbs up Besides, two of the plants are terrestrials and are still outside. Talk about soaking wet. I don't like to ship sloppy-wet plants.

Only about 2 inches or so here in NW MO. Good thing it was slow. We needed it so bad. They got a lot more down South and in the SE part of the state due to the way the weather pattern came thru. Of course with flooding of the Missouri & Mississippi rivers, it is what happens North of us that is far more important.

Well, we definitely didn't get that much rain, and I don't know if the wind speed lived up to the predictions but it has been really windy out today; we're at least half a mile away as the crow flies and i can hear L. Michigan roaring! (but the temp was around 50 all last night and today -- winter is getting shorter by the day here!)

Rained all night and has rained all day, moderately heavy with flash flood watch up and flood advisories in effect until 4 pm. We had about 15 inches of rain so far this month. Apart from a few sunny mornings its been raining continuously for a week. This area of rain is forecast to move Northwest up the island chain, give some heavy rain to Oahu and Kauai over the weekend and then come back to us on Monday and Tuesday.
The one bright spot is the temperature which is near 70f.
We have to put up with this to maintain our reputation of living in a rain forest.

This was our back yard about 2 weeks ago during the last rain storm.
