Betty - Post as many as you want! I think it is beautiful, too! ALL of yours are very, very lovely!!!

I look at all the beautiful seedlings that so many of you are growing and I think just about every one of them should be named and registered based on the photos you have shared here. Whether or not they have other qualities besides a pretty face .... well that might still have to be determined. 3 years for a seedling to show it's true habits seems like a long time to wait for an intro. I often wonder how many registered with AHS were a 1-year (or less) wonder? Meaning ... someone registered them and then they disappeared ... probably never to be heard about again.

Thanks Char and Becky! I have so few that I really like, so I have a tendency to photograph them over and over when they bloom... Hilarious!

I feel like my seedlings are sort of stuck in a time warp because everything that is blooming is from three or four years ago; and all my newer seedlings are still in containers too small for them to ever bloom because my ground planting area is just too small to plant that many seedlings (drought restrictions have forced me to shut down three beds I was going to plant my seedlings in). And my tastes and goals have changed since I planted everything that is now in the ground!

So I've decided I'm going to shift my focus and plant in the ground some of my more recent choice crosses and just let everything else from before wait their turn instead of planting chronologically -- after all, I've gotten into dips now too and want to see some of them bloom soon instead of waiting 4 or 5 years for their turn!

Crazy, eh? nodding

You have some stunning seedling, P-1 stands out to me. The polychrome Daylilies always look nice in pictures, but it was not until one of my seedlings bloomed a polychrome, that I realized just how beautiful they are. I've seen many pictures on here of them and always thought they were nice, but the second bloom of my seedling just glowed, a picture does not capture that. Now I know why you are so taken by them. Congratulations on your great seedlings, Ed

Ed - Wow! You are having a great year for blooms on seedlings! Congrats on so many beautiful seedlings! B-77 (Crocodile Jaws x So Beautiful To Me) 6.5 x43 - THAT one stood out because of the height of the scape! 43" = impressive!

I don't believe I have ever seen a polychrome bloom. So I can not fully appreciate what they are. I hope someday I do get the opportunity or perhaps even grow or purchase one. I am basically clueless right now. But ALL of your blooms have such fine qualities that I think they are truly lovely! Lovey dubby Thumbs up

And I really love P-1 (Lemon Fringed Pastel x Ode To Faith) I used the pollen on everything polychrome today! I can see why you used it's pollen today!

Karen - Very pretty all of them! Are they seedlings or the actual named and registered daylilies? Confused

There is nothing like the aroma that daylilies give off at the end of a hot, humid summer day. If I accomplish nothing at all in the gardens on a given day, I have to make the trip outside to stand at the edge of the garden and take in the wonderful aroma of the daylilies.

It would be a huge seller if we could only bottle that soft and gentle scent that a garden full of daylilies shares with us at the end of each day. It's often difficult to detect much aroma from individual blooms, but together they fill the air with the most delicate fragrance in the world.

I hope that today everyone takes the time to "stop and smell the daylilies"!!

Karen - Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing That's ok, I was just wondering if the photos were children in the ones you posted or the actual named daylilies! Thumbs up Whistling Hilarious!

BTW - Your daylily garden photos are wonderful!!! Wow! I have a lot of daylilies but they are all around my yard and I don't have enough to yet get that gentle aroma at the end of the day. BUT ... I have smelled many of mine and they do indeed have a very lovely scent!
