Ahh, yes, the rewards of sowing lily seeds. Hard to see in the moment you sow the seed, but t is so much fun the wonderment of first bloom, no matter how long it takes.

Does anyone have an ad that covers up part of the writing here? This is the only forum I see it on.

Wonderful, Anthony! I can't wait to see the flowers.

Thanks. I have to scroll side to side to get the writing. I'll have to take a screen shot and ask Dave. And it's just on this forum that I've noticed, anyway.

Golf ball size after 14 months is great! Nice to see that when it happens. You must be doing something right, Anthony! I got some OLD dwarf white seed from her this spring so I literally 'carpet bombed' the pot with seeds. I had about 80 to 100 come up. My goodness, what will I do with all those dwarfs? Fun, isn't it?

Anthony, maybe I should see if Gina Rinehart can put them to work--ha-ha. Actually,Llisa told me they were pretty old seed so she sent me lots and lots-- and I've still got some left in the freezer.

How many first year bloomers are you anticipating for next Spring? I should have somewhere in the neighborhood of 140 to 160 different ones this summer unless depending on how many I pinch. I pinched three that budded but just to small yet; maybe do two more still.

I meant to ask you, on that 14 monther you mentioned--did that ever go dormant or did that grow straight thru--my goodness that's big for 14 months!

I potted up 19 good sized pinks from a 28 seeding[not bad return].,.I think, with all the Halinar trumpets and the asiatics and a couple of rare OTs-species-oriental cross's ...i should top 200... still waiting on some seedling boxes to die back, and i can honestly say, 'every pot in my yard has a bulb in it[all 850-900] Blinking '- ive sighted or felt it...Man alive, some of these Greisbach OT seedlings have an 8" leaf..Ciliatum bulbs are still peanut size,so they will be a while..Candidum are small too....I have a few other hypo'g' seed boxes, that im not going to disturb[truth be known, i cant get near them for daffodil pots blocking the way in Whistling ]..I started those seeds in the garage window, then after winter, shifted them to the seed vortex, so, no they didnt go dormant.,.I push seed planting here to the limit...and of course, people on this thread, always ''force me'' to take in more seed.''resistance is futile'', i know! Thumbs up [thank you all]-[what else would i do with my weekends Confused ]

Well, Anthony--we all look foward to seeing lots of pictures come your next Springtime. You've certainly got a lot going on--If I lived anywhere near you I would come see you and enjoy sharing our thoughts and ideas along the way. How about some of the other people that were at the lily show--do you keep close contact with them?

Anthony, I Get up about 4:15 AM everyday--always have. Those that sleep thru that 'fresh and beautiful' dawn period will never realize the beauty they're missing. Today tho, I got up about 3:20AM for a slug hunt (with flashlight) and found one area I'll have to treat. I have a good neighbor accross the road from me thats also a very, very avid gardener so its not unusual to see him also out and about with a flashlight as well.
