An unofficial poll....

Who noticed and who did not notice, the blue stigma on that last pic?

(A nice contrast with the orangey-copper hues of the flower, although it does clash with the pollen, IMO.)
This one has a nice blend of colors on the tepals. Has weather been more forgiving, Anthony? The flowers you've been showing as of late have not exhibited the environmental stresses of your earlier pics.

Weather is still ####ful Rick- In the case of that last baby, its 'position position position'..-That was sold to me as l.Serendipity.,.It created a rift between the company and myself,.,.anyway, enough chatter...heres a Halinar purple seedlingThumb of 2012-12-27/gwhizz/9369c5

Anthony, on that 'orangey-copper hued one (l serendipity)--it has a nice curl about it, too. I'd like to see a side profile of it showing that curl and the reverse colors. I'll bet the reverse is nice too. Can you get another pic of the next flower? How's the substance? I wonder what this one and Tropical Isle would look like partnered up?

Edit: Anthony you were asking about that one I posted. That's a Carmine Diamond nestled in with some Regale types. I thought it looked a little Christmas like so I p[osted it. But it's not one of Dr Griesbachs. This one came up from residual bublets left behind as I moved stuff around I suspect.

The stigma appears more gray on my monitor. Though I would like to see a better pic of that Halinar purple ~ it has a nice dark stigma.
Where are we going, and why am I in this hand-basket?

I'm fascinated by what appears to be yellow pollen on the Halinar trumpet. I'm used to seeing orange pollen; I have one seedling with yellow pollen and I have been trying to propagate it. The ones I had in a pot looked virused so I discarded them but I think I have an extra in a seedling patch that I hope returns this coming year. I also have seed from a cross using its pollen.

Great! I still say I'd pair it up with Tropical Isle. I think Connie has a seedling cross that has similar color tones (?)

The Canterbury stigma looks dark dark purple on my CRT screen. For my new computer that I haven't set up yet, I bought an ASUS IPS monitor (VS229H-P) that is suppose to have truer color. Costs more, but for me I think it will be well worth it.

I would expect lilies with more substance, like that Canterbury, to last longer in good condition. See if you can take note of that, Anthony, and report back.
