Ursula, I only use PC for work. I've been an Apple convert since 2004. For all the complaining that people do about the price. I've upgraded only once since then and not because my MacBook broke, the old chip became obsolete.

I wanted to run PC programs on the Mac. I upgraded in 2010 and haven't had any issues.

Anyone?
I grow Habenaria ericmichaelii, which is ready to open and Habenaria medusa, also getting ready to bloom soon.
They are right now outside over the Summer with my other Orchids in the cage, they are getting some direct sun, but otherwise mostly filtered sun through the Japanese Maple on the right side. ( picture attached)
Over the Summer I water them plenty and fertilize. Btw we are having temps in the nineties F here.
After they bloom, they usually start slowing down and by the time they go inside into the greenhouse later in September, I group them with some of my Stapeliads. The reason for that is that I slow down on watering them just as I would do with those succulents, and when they lose all leaves I withold water. Perhaps they might get a gently spray along with my Succulents a couple of time in Winter. That is it on watering them then.
Once I see new growth in the Spring I start watering again and the cycle begins anew.
I have to check to be sure, but I think I had them potted into Canadian Peatmoss, which I keep around to add to my little bog in the backyard.

I've had pretty good luck except for the dead one I got from Andy. They grow from a corn buried in a little bit of potting soil. They put up a few leaves and then a bloom spike. It then dies back and is dormant all winter. During the winter I don't water it except for an occasional spray. Ursula may do it a little differently due to her climate.

We cross posted, Ursula. There is a huge thunderstorm on top of us right now and it is raining as hard as it can. We may never dry out!

Yes, lots of water and fert during the growing season.

I got a little Hab. rhodocheila last year, Bert. It has done great, doubling in size since last year and is working on two spikes. I'm thinking it deserves a new pot after the blooms are finished.

thanks, Tara and Carol !
I just had to test a couple of the tiniest lenses. At a stand at our local mall they were selling selfie sticks, and also a small box containing a fisheye, macro and wide angle lens to fit over mobile devises. For 10 bucks I had to give it these lenses a shot.

Beautiful photos, Ursula. I have a little going on in the OC so here are some of my pics. It must be Brassia season in Florida because most of mine are in bloom. First is Brsdm. Shooting Star 'Black Gold' (Brsdm. Gilded Urchin x Brs. Edvah Loo).

Here is a nice little Bulbo growing in a plastic pot in pure moss. It seems to be happy. This is Bulb. Sunshine Queen 'Yellow' (Bulb. mastersianum x Bulb. corolliferum). The last picture is taken from the bottom looking up.

I probably should have waited on this Alcra. Flying High (1987) (Alcra. Jet Setter x Onc. McNabianum) as it is just starting to open but I thought it was interesting as is. This one used to be a Degarmoara.

Wow, that White Fairy is just gorgeous, Jim. But I really do love the Peter Blue Sky. Looks like it has 'adapted' to the wet moss medium too, by sticking lots of healthy roots up into the air.
