As soon as the light is up, I am going to take photos of my four Vandas blooming! The daily watering and extra fertilizing has really turned them around. Looking nice!

I am having a hummingbird war in my back yard between two ruby throated juveniles.

I LOVE Why Not. Sighing! , wish, wish, wish I had a GH.

Ursula, you need to vacation in FL and make a stop in SC along the way.

When I lived near Carter & Holmes walking through their GH's was amazing and theirs were in bloom - at least enough of them to make your jaw drop. They ask women to lock their purses in the car because it is possible to accidentally knock flowers off with a swinging handbag as you walk the narrow aisles. The flowers literally hang down in your face. After two or three houses you are dizzy. The colors, the scents and the low prices are overwhelming.

I get their catalog 3-4 times each year. There prices are not low any longer. Sticking tongue out

V. Yip Sum Wah (oldie but goodie). Gift from a friend so I can't take credit for the bloom.

I agree beautiful Vandas Melissa.

Here is a picture of my Vanda, the color is deeper bluish purple in person but this color is close enough.

I sure hope the blooms will last longer, they have been open for quite some time...next hope is for it to bloom and have babies.

Melissa, such beautiful blooms!! Lovey dubby

Gigi, those blooms are nicely shaped and of good color! In general I get a good month out of my Vanda blooms. I think regarding some babies, getting a keiki will take some time and I have to say, in my hand it is not always a given.

I agree Ken. I have ordered from them a few times, only when they had special offers. Plants were still expensive and small.

Maybe if you visit their place, there are better deals to be had.

Lovely Vandas, both Melissa and Gigi.

I can't buy at retail, Elaine. It is hard enough to profit from my sales as it is. Crying

Look what I just found while watering the cage - this is Dimerandra emarginata alba with a very pretty single bloom, a first one for me. It is a warm grower.

I have to check, but I think I got it in February this year from Ecuagenera.

The prices at the C & H's GH's are much less expensive. I have always thought the prices in their catalogs were outrageous.

Ken, if you have a tax number or business license you should request the wholesale prices.

The subject of prices made me remember this one I saw at Akatsuka Orchid Gardens in Hilo back in 2008.

Think I'd rather spend that much on a nice greenhouse. Then fill it up with Vandas from Apopka.

That orchid reminds me strongly of Groucho Marx. Or is it just way past my bedtime?

Ah, yes. Me too, Ken. But I am on Mountain time at the moment so it was only 9:30. I am just exhausted from wrangling grandkids. Blinking

Seriously, that orchid has a big schnoz, now that I'm awake maybe it's a Jimmy Durante caricature. Not pretty to me, but funny.
