Sherry, you have just given me a potential id for one I call my sand colored iris! Glen Ellen looks like a match!

Patrick, you'll love Coronation. Some photos of mine in the garden here: http://garden.org/thread/view_...

Thanks Patrick! You'll have a healthy clump in no time, I started with a single rhizome, and now there are 3 or 4 clumps that size around the garden. It has a long bloom season too.

Some of the older yellows are *very* vigorous...

Yes, I do ,Neal . This was "first year bloom"for it, and I only have a couple, very poor pictures, though.

Thanks Arlyn! I will have to see them side by side to feel sure, but I'm really thinking this is what I have! I've never been much of a fan of brown irises, but I have found this one very appealing- subtle, but warm and beautiful.

Patrick, now perhaps you're seeing the appeal of growing various no ids- the fun of working the puzzle, the joy of figuring it out, and of course you get to enjoy the pretty flowers :-).

It would be a good fit, geographically, too, Neal. Clarence Connell was from Nashville, I believe.

Neal, It could be the pictures or lighting, but mine look a little more vein-y. The color seems like a good match. And Arlyn's seems somewhere between yours and mine.. I could send you a piece. Big Grin

Sherry, I noticed the stripes/veins in yours and Arlyn's photos, but didn't take any close up shots and don't recall if it displayed that trait or not. I'd love a rhizome to compare! Thanks!

Hmmmm.... I don't know why this iris is listed in the Database as an "Arilbred". It is a TB Iris per the American Iris Society.

The AIS "dis enfranchised" a bunch of AB's when the criteria for AB's was changed it had to do with the % of aril blood.

A blue arilbred would be awesome.
