You might remember I mentioned I saw her at Gammage ... I think it was last March. Awesome woman.

She spoke a lot about her life, of course. Not an easy life but you can see (and she means you to understand this about yourself) that everything she went through brought her to where she is today... and formed her very being. The film you cite here is autobiographical. She spoke of this part of her life the day I saw her. God, she has a beautiful way of speaking that you can't be listen and absorb like a sponge. Really gorgeous.

One thing she really emphasized. She abhors profanity of any kind.

Movie ordered, couldn't believe it. I got a brand new DVD for $6.30 and that included shipping!!

Ebay rocks! I bought a floor model of my favorite camera for $32. I paid $150 6 years ago.

I'm getting ready to list a ton of vintage swizzle sticks that I collected over the years. I need the money and they are always a good seller for me. Many have the little whistles...so cute! They were called "Whistle for your drink".

My Dad had them at all his parties...they were such a hit. I will save a couple dozen for myself but I have about 200-300. Plus giraffes, monkeys, all kinds of odd shapes and collectibles from travel and restaurants. I'll list in groups of 12 I think.

Just so ya know.....we're eating purslane over at DG. Kind of on a "I dare you" sort of basis.

I stir fried some last night with chicken. It was delicious!!!

My gardener told me I should come out and protect mine when the workers are here. Also Agave's because they use Agave in the BBQ fires. I have no Agave's.

Tonight I saw a show that talked about Flea Markets across America and one vender was selling prickly pear and they eat it.

Prickly Pear cactus "hips" (I guess that's what they're called. It's the red bud that forms after the flower is spent) is really good for reducing cholesterol. I've had the juice and jams and like them a lot. Very tasty and good for you. There's a little boutique / grocery store in Guadalupe, near South Mountain, that carries prickly pear products. Might be able to get them at Farmer's Markets too. I recommend it!

These were the whole paddle, Susie. Amazing. They were scraping off the little spikes, cuttin git up and stir frying.

Oh that too. I never eaten that part... they do sell it at Food City stores!

I need to try that soon.

taste similar to green beans really good with scrambled eggs or cooked in salsa.
