Thanks, everyone!
Went out today for a minute, came in and found a dog tick walking up my leg. Well, that did it for me. I told BDH my gardening days are over. He laughed uncontrollably! But, seriously, I am so afraid of ticks and Lyme disease and here they have Rocky mountain spotted fever.

As far as I know dog ticks do not carry the lime disease it is the smaller deer ticks
But I do not know about the rocky mt spotted fever , not around here Glare

Unfortunately Dog ticks are the carriers of the Rocky mountain spotted fever which is prevalent here.

I have started coleus from seed, but the cutting-grown varieties do so much better for me. Some are so sun tolerant. This bed gets full hot sun all day, but the coleus do great.

I over wintered mandevilles once , by cutting them down to about a foot and sticking pot and all in an unheated garage. They survived OK and grew the next year but it bloomed very late and not many blooms . I think I needed to set it out earlier, but it was a cold spring, also should have re-potted and added more fertilizer.
