Ticks wouldn't bother me so much if they didn't carry these horrible deadly diseases! Angry
Anyway, just beautiufl, Tamara and Karen! I got coleus for the first time this year, also and on the deck it is the last one standing of the annuals. Tough little buggers!

Tamara do you have a basement? One with an especially bright light coming through? Stick the mandevilla pot and all downthere and water it oh maybe 2 x's a month from November thru Feb. Then repot cut back the disgusting foliage. Root prune if need be, give it some fertilizer, (MG is always a good bet) a bright sunny window with tlc and you will have a beautiful mandevilla next year too.

Did mine survive? Did 3 years in a row. This year I forgot it downstairs and the darn thing is vining up a string Ed had hanging for whatever reason. No blooms but its alive..................... Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Janice, it is a low growing Hollyhock, only about 2 ft tall, with the oak-shaped-leaves. I bought the plant from Lowe's cause I love the flowers. I have collected seeds from it. Hope they will germinate next year.

I had some black Hollyhock last year, "The Watchman", and they are so pretty! It really does look black, but when you look closely it's like a velvety, dark purple, burgandy kind of flower. It would look great against a light backdrop. I didn't realize it when I planted them at the mailbox. They did not come back this year though, so I will have to plant them again.

Does Black Current shows up black looking? The Black Current Swirl is very pretty!

Here is a picture of "The Watchman" from last year:

Oh, Tamara, The Watchman only got about 5 feet tall, but I had some pink ones this year and they got up to about 8 ft tall. It went into my rose bushes in my arbor.
