I asked one of our members, who is in the RIS to bring some to our meeting.

In my daughter's garden in Salt Lake City, we had Victoria Falls and a nice purple called Cantina re-bloom at least a couple of times before they moved away from "my" garden.

I did dig up some rhizomes to bring along but they've only been in a year, and their garden at the new house is not as sunny as the old one. Rebloom there definitely seems to depend upon how early the spring weather warms up, and also how late into fall you get before there is a frost. At that altitude, the cold comes suddenly and it really gets Cold!

Daughter of Star's enthusiasm never fails to amaze me. She is the growingest, increasingest, bloomingest Iris in my garden. I'm jealous that she's blooming in your garden again, Jan -- I don't see any such activity in mine.

Jan -- I got her as a bonus and thought (shrug) ok -- not impressed. And then she settled in. And she grew the most awesome blooms, and she increased like mad. I stood in the twilight one evening and took picture after picture of her perfect beauty. When it got too dark, I took her picture with a flash! I've never done that with another Iris -- she has a subtle beauty that just grabs me. I don't know if she's won any awards (I need to look that up) -- but if she hasn't, she should.

Moral of the story -- she grows on you!!!

Tom -- how's Patch this morning?

Wow - lots of information today. The Gallery on Reblooming Iris Society is very useful - thanks for the heads up.
I do realize now that my best rebloomers are on the south side of my house but did not know why. Rosalie will bloom planted in any direction and Daughter of Stars is on its first fall so not sure about it. I planted Purple Magic somewhere but now do not remember where....hmmm
Hopefully something will pop up before too long.

Patch is not doing well. She won't eat food, gulps water, and can't keep that down either. I'm thinking this is not going to end well. My vet is going to call this afternoon after I take another glucose level and before he leaves for a family vacation. I'm watching the weigh melt off her. I'm pretty stressed.

So sorry that your news is not better. Pets can be just like family. Very stressful when they are aging or sick.
