I'm not saying that rebloomer CAN'T have "bloom out", and die, I will say that the closest I have seen any come, is blooming all the "big" increases out in the fall, and the "Tiny" ones(often not even big enough to have leaves yet" aren't large enough to spring bloom, the following year...it takes a couple years for that kind to 'even out" and "get regular".

I have had a few spring bloomers do that, Arlyn. Every fan will make a bloom stalk and the starts that come on this year will not be mature enough to make a bloom next spring. I don't know what causes that.

I just wrote an email to Van Zyverden for putting the word "reblooms" on their iris packages when the varieties named do not rebloom. I picked up Batik and Red Masterpiece at a discount store on the way back from Vermont. No one but Van Zyverden calls them rebloomers. Let's see if their customer service answers me. Wouldn't it be nice if they sent a big box of daffodils? They shouldn't be in the iris business. nodding

Ha! Van Zyverden wrote back. They want the barcodes of the products so they know which ones got mistakenly labeled as rebloomers!

I've got one in bloom here too, Tom. It increases like crazy for me here, but if it blooms out, I'd be happy to send you more next year. Big Grin
I've been battling Cucumber Beetles.. They completely shredded a bloom on Champagne Encore. They seem to prefer lighter colored flowers and are making a mess of some Roses and Cannas. If it's not one thing, it's another....

Are those the ones that have a red color, when they are in the larval stage, Sherry ? Then turn "stripped" when the become a 'beetle'. I had tem really bad this year on my potatoes....never saw any before this year Confused . I sprayed with sevin....and got very poor results, but, in doing some reading, I've found there is a "biological control" for them (only works when they are in the larval stage), so I'm going to get some , for next year. I hate using the sevin in the veggie garden.....especially when it really doesn't have much effect on the bugs !

Sherry I was invaded with leaf hoppers and grass hoppers, then the wild turkeys found them. Now I don't have any bugs, good ones, or bad ones. I'm just left with 30 full grown turkey's crushing and pecking anything in their path and drinking out of my pool.

Something dug up and ate some of my dahlia tubers. I've never had this happen before, but something ate one of my jade plants.

Beautiful bloom Tom! Thumbs up

About 1/2 mile from our house are bunches of turkeys. They are even in the business area of our town, so I'm not sure why we don't have turkeys on our property and thankful we don't. We have lived in 4 houses on this street since 2000. Last summer was the first time we saw one sitting on her nest in our pasture then a few days later no turkey or eggs and have never seen one since. I'm guessing Coyatoes, mountain lions, or maybe our dogs in the fenced area. When my SIL lived about 1.5 miles from here the turkeys would peck at her car and windows on her house. Once in a while the toms would see their reflection in the windows and puff up their feathers. Blinking

Husbands question: with that many turkeys, how come the pavement isn't white? I would hate to have that many. We usually have a couple hens & chicks.
