Hi everyone; I have been here but Dea asked me to co-Admin in the Calling All Cooks forum; that's an interesting experience but very time consuming. I lurk and read mostly at DG and will here also. I love lilies and it's you guy's fault!

Hi,

My DH and I moved to Mount Bethel, PA 4 years ago from Harrington Park, NJ, We had had enough of the rat race in that area and decided that we would spend our 70's in a completely different ambiance. Now we are relocated city people finding out what we have been missing all these years. They quiet farmland area that we moved to has given us plenty of room to dig and plant and watch the sunsets from our deck. We have enough room in our new home to put up our relatives and friends who visit us often to enjoy the country atmosphere.

We have 4 children and 7 grandsons (who will be visiting us next week because of school being closed for the holiday).

When we moved here the house was surrounded by a huge flat expanse of mud that would quickly turn into weeds if we didn't hurry to do something about it. Of course we quickly covered it with lawn seed, put in some trees, and , thanks to my finding DG, I had all the information to confidently start planning gardens all over the place. My DH told me that the new bed that we put in last year would be the last one because I can't work as long and as quickly as I used to. He's right of course, so I'll just have to overstuff the beds with all the new stuff that I want.

Hi Teri, welcome! I've got the grandkids next week too. Only two of them, but they sure keep me busy.

Do you have lilies already? Nothing like the smell of a lily at sunset.

Hi there! it's taken me a while to get here. Thanks to Susan (stilldew) for the invite. I'm susybell at Dg, finally got a chance to drop the "bell", so to speak. I'm not sure how much I'll be around, but I'm delighted to be here and explore something new. I've been in a deep funk for months now (darned PNW weather!), but I'm fascinated by this new idea and think I'll be in and out-and very happy to see some familiar faces over here already. Smiling

Hi Susy, Welcome!

Please stick with us. Seeing the lily pictures will definitely cheer you up.

The pictures from Pard and Tracey of the OTs were better than a huge dose of vit D for me.

Hi, I’m Debbie (dlefferts on Dave’s). I live in Massachusetts and we have had very little snow this year but, it has been cold. My favorite plants are lilies and heucheras, can’t seem to stop adding them to my gardens. I also like any unusual plant I can find, many people would call the plants ugly but, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I found my love of lilies by visiting Dave’s and seeing all the lovely lilies that people have in their gardens. I have to thank many/most of the people on this site for all the information and help they have giving me in the last couple of years in regards to my lilies. I have lily beetles and they are awful and will fight them with chemical warfare this year.
PS. Getting a new computer having trouble with pictures.

Hi, my name is Joanne and my most favorite lily in my garden is Starfighter, which I hope makes it thru another winter (I think it's Zone 4). I have different types of lilies in each flower bed and look forward to their blooms each year

Thanks for the welcome, Polly.

No, no lilies yet. It's still cold and snowy here in zone 6a. Lots of sowing under lights going on. The one thing that keeps me going is my precious Jasmine that fills the place with its wondful aroma.

I am checking out more lily co-ops and sales now, even though I don't know where I will have room to put them.

I'm with you. I've been buying them right and left, and worrying about where to put them later.

Hello all, especially some old DG pals posting here. It is also so nice to see some new lily lovers here.

I do love lilies too, along with too many other things, especially narcissus, tulips, minor bulbs, Iris, viburnums, DL and too many other things to admit. The list gets longer each year. But Lilies could be the queen of my summer garden.

I am grateful to those of you who have posted so many inspirational photos and to those of you who have supplied me over the years with great bulbs and plants for my garden. Patti

Diann, I've never seen your gardens before, it's gorgeous! You are so humble!

A bit about me:

Just getting into being an empty nester and met Wanda who immersed me into the fab world of gardeners and lilies.
Non-gardeners and non-horse lovers tend to think I am just a bit left of center but I am so loving my after children pursuits.

Luckily I am a Harshbarger, Anon and CVIDS member

Going back up to read all! HI! Hi!
