Yeah, I think in hotter climates they actually appreciate high shade, part sun, and part shade and show us by prolonging the bloom time and give us a more intense color. Orientals appreciate this especially. Trumpets may be the exception as i think too much shade makes them lean a lot, so perhaps there, more light is better, though part sun is good enough there too, based on my experience of trial and error.

So far our spring and summer has been cold. The long term forecast for the season is colder than usual. So I guess my expectations are for a colorful Bonbini Hurray! and a green tomato summer Thumbs down .

I saw over on DG that some people got virused lilies from a co-op. Is that common to get virused lilies from Dutch wholesalers? I've been selling lilies potted for almost 20 years, and never had any that were virused. I always got mine from Ednie, or The Lily Garden. Then MAK this year.

What can anyone tell me about where the virus seems to come from. Any info about the virus period would be appreciated.

It's been extremely wet here. I'm certain if I don't take preventative measures, botrytis will set in. The lily are getting pretty beat up from all the storms. The ones who stand nicely on their own usually are beat down and look to need staking Sad

So, here I am to share who stood up to the downpours of the last 10 days.

'Silverwood'

Viruses can happen to anyone, but is least likely when you buy from a reputable grower, a person who actually grows the lilies you buy. I'm sorry to hear that that happened. It's a bummer.

Here's my 'Rosella's Dream' The pink is deep, but I don't see any yellow. It's nice though, even without the yellow.
